Santana- because he can also have all the people that have guested on his later songs join him, like Rob Thomas and Michelle Branch.

    Black Magic Woman
    Oye Como Va
    Smooth
    Game of Love

You appeal to the Latino audience (not trying to be cynical, but as a promoter, that's what I'm thinking), the 70s and 90s crowd- heck, he's done duets with Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler- if done right, that's a broadly-appealing halftime show.

Personally, if you could ever get Steve Perry to join back with Journey for a show like this, that would be among the biggest you could get.

My first choice, because every time I've seen him, it's been among the greatest shows I've seen, is Prince. But he's already done it.

Whoever said AC-DC was spot-on- I mean, just Thunderstruck, You Shook Me, Back in Black, and Hells Bells alone- those are played at every arena- maybe they're scared of the "hells" references

They should bring back Up with People. It was clean, wholesome fun for the whole family. I LOVE Up with People.

That would be cool but it wouldn't happen cause Steve's a little b**** about the whole thing. He's holding a grudge all the way back to when the band wouldn't wait on him to take a multi-year break while he took his time having hip surgery or some sh_t. Basically, Steve wanted a long break and the band wanted to pursue their musical careers. And, to this day, Steve is still a little b**** about it...even admitting he is in the wrong about it. Plus, Steve has this perfectionist thing going on where his own singing is never good enough. It's quite weird. I think the guy has a mental screw loose or something. It's unfortunate that he didn't use his voice to its potential given he had one of the great ones. Sure, he's done a bunch of unreleased songs and demo stuff that we may never hear until he is dead and buried. But, the whole Journey dissolution thing was all on Steve pretty much.

I agree- I think he's got mental issues, too. Singers, in general, tend to f**k things up the most in bands. Axl Rose, Dennis DeYoung with Styx, Roger Waters, etc.

Singers lose their voice as they get older. I reckon he just can't sing anymore at least not to the standard he is happy with.

My input is not coming from me but Steve himself in a more recent interview I came across. The thing about him not being able to get over the band split, him admitting he was primarily the faulty party in all that, and him saying he is a perfectionist to his own detriment...is from that interview. But, he did sign a contract with a label to produce some new material. The ball is in his court on that. Unfortunately, in that same interview, it was clear as day he couldn't get over the Journey thing after all these years...even as far as he won't talk to any band members and all communication is through lawyers. The guitarist Schon made a funny comment that it would be nice to be able to just talk to Steve again instead of lawyers doing it. But, in the end, Steve says he is content with his decisions and my understanding was there was always a line in the sand between Steve and the rest of the band about his solo stuff, creative control, etc. .
