Should Beverley or Douglas be the backup PG?

Lin's too much a rhythmic player(which gets me frustrated too) .But then I agree anyway.

We've only seen Beverly play twice and both times he committed a lot of fouls.

Other than that, we don't really remember much about his game play.

There are two sides to this argument, but the standard reasoning is that it's better to play your best foul-drawing player, if he's one of your best free-throw shooters, late in the quarter when you're in the penalty and the other team is statistically a little more likely to foul. The argument is that it's better to rest him when you're not in the penalty. The counter-argument is that with that strategy you don't get to the penalty as quickly, but it's not a popular viewpoint.

Sub both, in spurts. Energy through the roof.

Beverley has a better playmaking ability.

Have TD back up Harden and Beverley back up Lin. It's hard to say really about Beverley because he's only played about 5 games. He seems to run the offense better than TD though who seems more interested in shooting. I'd try Beverley though as backup PG - if he doesn't cut it then find someone who can (NOT TD).

Here's the thing about Beverly. He's play exactly 100 mins since joining the Roxs. He hasn't played significant minutes in a non-blowout game in almost 2 weeks - 12mins in the Nuggets game @ Houston on 1/23 to be exact.

I still have no idea what the Roxs have in him. I would him to get at least 12 mins a game somewhere.

TD, on the other hand, I've seen a lot of him this year, and watched him in a bunch of games prior to joining the Roxs. As good as some of you think TD has been this year - he has had some clutch games for us - he's actually been pretty bad overall. Compared to when he first joined the league, this has been his worst non-injury year.

    I give you advance stats:

    PER:
    2009-10: 14.9
    2010-11: 15.2
    2012-13: 12.4

    TS%:
    2009-10: .571
    2010-11: .534
    2012-13: .522

    eFG%:
    2009-10: .545
    2010-11: .511
    2012-13: .483

    TOV PER36:
    2009-10: 1.8
    2010-11: 1.6
    2012-13: 2.2

    xRAPM:
    2009-10: -2.3
    2010-11: -1.0
    2012-13: -2.26

My point is this: We pretty much know what we have in TD, a streaky scorer, not a black hole on D, not much else. I want to see more of Beverly to see what we have in him. This is also true of Jones, DMo, and James Anderson. Perhaps, just perhaps, it would be nice to eventually see Royce White as well at some point, though I wouldn't criticize the Roxs management for that.

The Bevinator by far. He showed good vision, play-making ability and solid defensive skills in his limited time. I'd like to see how he shoots with more consistent playing time, but the energy he brings is very positive.

TD is getting some mins before the TDL to hopefully get someone to bite on him. He's a small, streaky 2-guard, who's a decent perimeter defender. No vision and below-average court awareness.

Hopefully he's traded in a few weeks and Bevs gets a chance to shine.

Neither should be the backup PG.

    How?

Nuggets are capped out and will probably lose Andre Iguodala

Rockets have the most money to spend this summer and have a handful of young, developing players on rookie scale.

Nuggets right now to acquire a developed in his prime star probably have to give up Faried and/or Gallinari.

Rockets in the same boat have enough hidden away on the bench to possibly keep both Asik and Parsons

TD's gunning always kills our offense since he takes shot away from even Harden. I would like to see more Beverley, but really just less touches for TD whether he is on the court or not.

Play Toney Douglas in the hopes that we can trade him for a second rounder.

    Patrick Beverly is a player.

I missed the game because I was at church but I was monitoring the box score on my LP and I was like how the hell did Tony jack up like 7 shots in 6 minutes. McHale needs to put him on a tighter leash.

Need the power forwards to step up. So Parsons doesnt have to slide over to to the 4 for those "advantageous" small ball lineups.
