Hakeem Olajuwon won the MVP, DPOY, played 80 games and led his team to the 2nd best record in the league in 94 How do you like that regular season?
so where is Hakeem in the Y2K decade? I get that Hakeem was a great player but I was talking about the modern era beyond the glory days.
What kind of lunatic would give him credit for that season anyways? that was the worst Tmac season for the Rockets. He only played 35 games and he was playing every other game when he was healthy.
In the Tmac/Yao era? You know that Spurs team was really good. That Tim Duncan didn't talk so much like Tracy and he didn't have many spectacular dunks or jack up a bunch of desperate shots too win a regular season game.
So you are inclined to talk more about the Spurs and Duncan than the Rockets just because they have better overall players? I am not even that desperate to win
He was exceptionally talented. Gets alot of blame for team failures, moreso then he perhaps deserves. If anything he excelled in the playoffs with the jump in ppg, but put it down to him or supporting cast, just wasn't enough to get over the hump.
So you know the TOFs are crying it's not fair that Yao doesn't get the same type of treatment as Tracy and he was part of those failed teams too. You know why? Yao Ming came to the Rockets as a skinny kid from China who knew nothing of American culture and had difficulty with the language . He had to learn culture as well as how to play NBA basketball. Tracy McGrady was already an all star and league leading scorer when he came here. Yao also had obligations to China's Olympics. That was his country. Tracy didn't have obligations to his country. Yao overcame more, and he only played for the Rockets, he never said anything ever that ever suggested he was better off with some other team. You can tell Yao wanted to come back and be with the Rockets, he was heartbroken when he couldn't. Yao was real. Tracy was telling Stephen A Smith about his surgery and not the Rockets organization. That's Tracy McGrady.
I wasn't really that into the NBA during the early 90s. My dad was teaching me the game that time but me and my brother watched the matchups between the Bulls-Lakers and Celtics. Rockets? I didn't really know the team before. Would I even care to watch the matchups then? Not really. As I said before, I am out there competing and not just lounging around my computer all day answering these kinds of questions and posting youtube videos and articles just to prove my point. Some keyboard player talking about the game is probably not credible either.
What I am talking about. Yao was the pillar for the Rockets. McGrady was only the second option actually. But why do you always have to be Pro this guy and Anti-Tracy all the time? You can support all those guys. I for one am not bitter because he went to A Smith.... more guys have talked to Stephen ..AZZ Smith McGrady deserves the doubt of his fans but not all this hate.
That ****'s hilarious. I just watched video leading up to that, Tmac dunked on him early in the game and stared him down. Still deserved the elbow/ego check though
you pretty much dodged the question on why you think favor the 90s Bulls over the 90s Rockets. That's great that you play basketball, but that has nothing to do with Olajuwon destroying the entire Bulls front line and putting them all into foul trouble. You playing basketball on the court doesn't explain why when the Rockets destroyed the bulls 114-92, and why bill cartright elbowed Dream's eye socket. Who's your current favorite Rocket player? Harden? Lin? what would happen if they were blowing out a team and someone threw a dirty elbow that send him out on a stretcher? Does your playing hoops explain that? Go ahead and keep avoiding this argument, because you are a basketball player so therefore you know about games you never saw.
Rick Adelman was pissed. So was the Rockets organization. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3928531 McGrady first revealed that he would undergo microfracture surgery in an interview with ESPN's Stephen A. Smith last Tuesday. McGrady then made a public announcement on his Web site the following day. Coach Rick Adelman lashed out at McGrady for not properly informing the team and general manager Daryl Morey said he wanted to talk to McGrady about his apparent decision. On Monday, the team officially confirmed that McGrady would have the surgery in Chicago, and McGrady apologized on his Web site to team owner Leslie Alexander and the Rockets for "this entire situation."
Can't have it all. Adelman was no JVG.... and vice versa... JVG was the Tracy Fan and Yao Fan Well none of those three lasted.... but I guess the players lasted longer than the Adolf man
After McGrady left Houston, not a single team in the whole NBA liked to have him playing for them even at a minimum pay. This speaks a lot of things about McGrady. Case closed.
1. Why do I favor the 90s Bulls over the 90s Rockets? Hmm...let me think. 2. Destroy the Bulls? Who won the championship that time? That team destroyed any and every other team. Are you satisfied that the 90s Rockets beat the Bulls in a regular season game? As for the elbowing of the socket, basketball is a contact sport. You have these physical plays all the time. While I'm not praising Cartwright's actions on the Dream, I'm not really concerned about that either. It's part of the game. Cuts, bruises and even teeth knocked out, it's all part of the game. If you are mad about this then go play chess. 3. Favorite player? I don't have any. I just enjoy watching this team grow. 4. What would happen if someone threw a dirty elbow? Suspension and a fat fine of course.
Yo Scooby Doo, What happened After McGrady left New York? After McGrady left Detroit? After McGrady left Atlanta? That speaks a lot of things about McGrady
