not realistic. you want them to give a very good prospect for absorbing Bargnani who they could just amnesty.

Keep it simple: target Cousins using Asik and filler as bait while we absorb one of their bad contracts (likely Chuckwagon or Thornton).

Was thinking something similar. HOU's assets seems to fit Indy's needs: Backup wing and PG (Green and Augustin) seems to be Indy's weakest positions and their offense stinks to a large part due to lack of 3pt shooting (check their 3 pt %). They also need a PF-of-the-future type since David West is getting old and a FA and their other PFs are nothing special. I figure they'd want Motiejunas or Jones, though. Maybe even Morris to provide more spacing at the 4.

Also, their cap situation makes this make sense-- they are due to have basically no cap room after signing David West back. Getting rid of Granger's salary for smaller ones would allow them to make a run at, for example, OJ Mayo in the summer.

I would love to get Cousins but I don't think it would be that easy. Asik is fine manning the middle we just need a different type of pf.

We could make this small move that would give us a stretch four and a young pg. Bonner hanging out by the arc gives Harden, Lin and even Parsons much better driving lanes. Asik is a good enough offensive rebounder to be alone down there. Plus this trade changes none of our flexibility and opens more playing time for Jones and/or D-Mo so they can be groomed to take over. I believe one of those two WILL be our stretch four in the near future.

Spurs get two young pf prospects to replace Bonner and gets rid of one of the 20 pg's they have on their roster.

I get what you're saying but I'm thinking long-term here. This isn't going to be our year. Gary Neal is a solid player but he's also a free agent at the end of the year; meaning the upside to this trade could be limited to just half of a season.

Cousins obviously has a boatload of issues but he's dominant and would be a legitimate building block for this franchise moving forward. The best part? He gets away from a dysfunctional team like the Kings and plays next to a star like Harden. Both will aid in his maturity. This type of a trade would be a complete steal for us.

Believe me I would love to have Cousins, he is definitely an upgrade over Asik but I just don't think Asik with throw ins and taking back a bad contract would get it done. I mean what would you plan on giving them to entice them to lose a franchise center if you were Morey? I think other teams could and would make better offers for Cousins. Hell just off the top of my head Milwaukee could do this...

    http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=ao8yxxw

...which is better than what we could offer. If you can come up with a better offer with our assets I would love it but I just don't see it with our current crop of players.

I think we should make a small move, maintain our flexibility, and wait to pounce when another team gets desperate. Just my thoughts.

Generally speaking, I agree it should take a lot more than that to pry away a talented malcontent like Cousins from a team with no direction like the Kings. At least if I were calling the shots in Sacramento (Lord help me), that would be the case.

However, if you recall Marc Stein's report last month, he suggested the Kings are very much divided on whether or not to move him; with team president Geoff Petrie in favor of dealing him. Kevin Pelton went on to suggest a number of trade proposals - among them: Morris/Smith for Cousins, Collison/Crowder/Wright for Cousins, Jordan Crawford/Kevin Seraphin for Cousins and a few others of that nature.

The point is: yes, these are just analysts, but they also wouldn't print this type of stuff unless it was at least somewhat realistic based upon information at their disposal. I'd be listening if I were the Rockets. Which, I'm sure DM is and has been doing.

Honestly I would love if we just traded morris and patterson for some picks and inserted dmo and tjones in their spots in the rotation. It may very well cost us a couple of games but its pretty obvious the rooks are more talented and they could develop while we get some picks back that we lost via the harden trade

I like your thoughts but "you are what you can gaurd". That back court would set records for points against - every gaurd in the league would have their best scoring game of the season.

Actually I missed that report. Shame on me. WOW if we could get him for Morris/Smith that would be a raping unlike we have seen this season WOW. If that in fact would get it done I would throw in Patterson for Fredette also to give us another shooter off the bench lmao.

I thought about that one too... but damn something in my gut does not want to let go of Parsons which is stupid because he will probably not be a superstar and you would be getting Cousins which could be an all-star. I just think Parsons is one of those hustle guys who makes your whole team better and helps keep the chemistry balanced. Plus he is so cheap for what he brings and you need those guys on your team.

Might as well see if you can get Tyreke for Delfino/Douglas while your at it lol. Nah Tyreke next to Harden would not be a good fit.

Geoff Petrie has stated that he is willing to trade Tyreke Evans as long as they are not taking back money

    So how about:

Tyreke Evans for Aldrich and Douglas (all 3 or expiring contract)

w/ Tyreke here as the new 6th or 7th man off the bench would be good for us cause he is the definition of a combo guard IMO

Try to trade for a backup center like Gortat or bring up Tim Obby

    Lin / Harden / Parsons / Morris / Asik

    Evans / Delfino / Smith / Gortat

9 man rotation in the playoffs could work

here is where i got the info on Evans

    [QUOTE

A couple of teams consulted have volunteered the notion that Kings GM Geoff Petrie is ready to move Evans, but you have to wonder how much shot-calling Petrie can do at the minute. The greater likelihood is that the Kings don't do anything at this deadline unless it saves money or comes in cash neutral. ESPN.com

As for Evans? Word is the Grizzlies would have loved to acquire him as part of the big trade that sent Gay away, but the Kings really aren't in a position to take on salary as they await clarification on who'll be buying the team from the Maloof brothers. ESPN.com

And still, with Evans appearing to be getting back into pre-injury form, his name continues to generate trade speculation. Evans said he’s heard his name being mentioned around teams like the Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers, just to name a few. Does he want to be dealt? “Not really,” said Evans. “I’m good. I like playing for the Kings. I’d love to be here.” CSNPhilly.com

Evans speaks somberly about growing up in Chester. He was lacing his black Nike shoes, size 15, when the topic of his childhood came up. Tucked into a corner of the visitors' locker room here at the TD Garden, Evans froze. He kept his head down, staring at his still-untied shoes. His fingers, wrapped around his black laces, stopped moving. He took a breath and scanned the locker room. "It was tough," he said quietly. "I'm glad to have had the opportunity to get out of there. I had to work hard." Philadelphia Inquirer

Fair enough, I've noticed this too. But we're talking about maturity and conditioning issues here. This sort of thing can be corrected or coached. What can't be taught is his incredible size, ceiling and natural talent.

He's still figuring out how to play and will eventually learn how to produce efficiently. Once he does that his trips to the FT line will go up and the TO's will go down.

Word is that Toronto is still hot for Gasol and wants to move Bargnani for him. Dunno if LA is really interested. But I wonder if ATL would be interested in this?

    Rox get
    Bargnani

    Raps get
    Gasol

    Lakers get
    Josh Smith (expiring)

    Hawks get
    Landry Fields
    D-Mo
    Morris
    Aldrich (expiring)
    Douglas (expiring)

Lakers would probably like that for the expiring aspect and the possibility of matching DH12 and Smoove together for the future.

Raps would definitely like that. Figure they'll look to move Fields now that they got Gay.

Would ATL be content with Fields, D-Mo, Morris in return for Smith?
