ATT Uverse will not deliver what they promised and dont seem to care

    I was inquiring about CSN Houston with uverse. Of course they do not have it and I was wanting to know when they would get it. Of course they do not know which I understand but I was promised a 50.00 per credit per month until uverse gets CSN. That was promised to be on a chat by a supervisor and I have the chat saved. I got so angry and upset that I got a call from the president office of retentions office or something of that nature. Basically telling me they cant do that and they have talked to the person who promised me this and have assured me it will not happen again. What I am upset about is it took that much trouble to get someone to actually believe me that it was told to me. Overall I am upset that ATT will not deliver what they promised to me and due to my inconvenience they did not any offer any type of alternate solution since I was actually lied to not once but TWICE. I had both chats saved in regards to this as I knew it was too good to be true and wanted proof I was told this. I have been lied to for the past two months about it and it comes down to we cant do anything for you. I know to ATT I am just a number and nothing else and if I was not in a contract with them I would maybe think about leaving all together.

    ever tried paying a bill on the phone? i guarantee it'll take at least 15 minutes, if you're lucky enough not to have thrown your phone at the TV by then.

    Unless you had that "promise" in writing, you are **** out of luck. They got you man. They bent you over and stuck it in.

    Take it to twitter. Many times that actually gets some action from companies when other methods don't.

    At $50 a month off, they would probably be losing money on you. Why would they keep you as a customer again?

    How do you know it wasn't a typo and they meant $5.00?

    Not that I am siding with ATT, as I am not a fan in the least of that company, but your expectations are beyond high.

    Because 50.00 was stated over and over in the chat again and again. They had actually put in the chat 5.00 and then corrected themselves with *50.00.

    My expectations are to get what was promised even if it was a mistake. Fine it be a mistake some type of discount should be given.

    Yeah every company sucks. Comcast, Directv, ATT they are all crap. False ads, and promises via chat/phone are a big problem for Comcast. Once they get you all hooked up they don't care if you saved the deal or they are still advertising the deal you signed up for. Even if you read the fine print to make 100% sure you are included in the deal they still lie to your face.

    Having worked for a major cable provider before. Let me assure all of you guys, that they will do ANYTHING to get you off the ****ing phone. I also frequently had to deal with sales reps lying their asses off, and then having to go into a billing system and fix stuff.

    NEVER use the chat feature. You do realize that it's outsourced and those people don't even work for AT&T? It's a 3rd party that can just look at certain sections of you account?

    Also, calling your provider to ask them about CSN Houston is absolutely POINTLESS. There is no escalation process, and representatives aren't going to make a difference.

    "Oh , but I spoke with a supervisor". At Time Warner Cable, a "supervisor" was a row of about 20 normal workers whose role was to say they were a supervisor and had access to give out credits, or retain customers.

    Threatening to cancel over CSN is probably your best bet at getting any sort of compensation for it. Just be sure to MENTION another provider's name. A lot of times they weren't able to offer deals to you unless you specifically said "I'm planning on switching to Directv". If you just said "I'm planning on switching to another provider", you're going to have a bad time.


    Don't even get me started with equipment when it comes to cable companies. If you have Comcast right now and you have a SCIENTIFIC ATLANTA BOX. It's a piece of ****. Do yourself a favor, call the 1800 Comcast number, and have them send you either a RNG150N (HD BOX) OR A RNG200N (HD-DVR).

    Its hilarious how everyone complains about every single provider out there. Every single one is the worst. I have had Comcast, Dish, and UVerse. I think UVerse is the best followed by Dish. Comcast is pure garbage. Never had DirecTV

    Never use the chat feature is a little funny. You make a phone call it is your word against theirs and you will lose every time. At least with the chat you can show you were told something.

    Most of these companies have the ability to go back and listen to a call. Don't underestimate the technology of the phone systems they have in place. Always ask for a sales ID or a rep number.

    If you have proof though, you should be able to send it to someone via e-mail. That may be able to help you out.

    I have already done this. I emailed the conversations I had to them and it does not seem to matter.

    This is a sports forum in a city where the majority fans can't watch the primary team on this forum. Not really a good time to use that meme. It sucks not being able to watch Rockets games. Streaming isn't even half of VHS quality.
