I just had my first Epiphany Dream actually be true. I'm talking dreams where you think you wrote a full novel or the best song ever, then wake up and re-assess things and...well, not so quite...maybe dream thinking it not so real. So, we've all had these dreams. But have you ever had one be accurate. I just did on Thursday. First one ever. It was a geek dream about math. Long story short, I was indeed dreaming. And slowly awoke. But if it was real, I had to make a phone call to Germany immediately. It was 2am. After staring at my dog for 5 minutes for her OK, I gave her a treat and made the call.... very politely said..."I think I just had a dream, but I think I might have found a flaw." I'm not so sure I want another Epiphany Dream anytime soon...I'm going on 4 hours sleep since then. Unless of course I actually do pull off the best: That last part was from a description of a band I saw on Thursday before the dream. here http://thelaughinggoat.com/events.php
fine. but, sick as a dog. can someone walk my dog and go get some binadryl for me. regarding the story. the dream helped me solve a huge math problem at work. after waking, it took me 30 minutes for me to prove to myself that the dream's answer was correct. then, i had to make the phone call to colleagues in germany to tell them in an attempt to stop development. essentially, i had to prove that in our case a * b * c ≠ (a * b) * c now the stress and lack of sleep has apparently made me sick.
I would say all of those things are not epiphanies. I think an epiphany would be a larger leap of understanding than realizing an error in a math problem. It is still cool though.
