I have my doubts if Josh Smith is on Morey's radar. I'm guessing he wants a 22-24 year old stretch 4 that can shoot 3s, and that he feels Smith would be too big of a chucker under our system, and/or clog our spacing.

No longer want if it's going to cost max. :/
Would rather grab two young, high upside, 2nd tier prospects

What is most funny is he puts Brook Lopez and himself in the same sentence with Michael Jordan and Lebron James.

    FWIW...

@AlexKennedyNBA: The Suns are pursuing Josh Smith. They've had exploratory talks with the Hawks. They can offer a Marcin Gortat package: http://t.co/TsdaAwv8

No. M Beasley is useless, Josh Smith is quite a good player.

The problem is that they'll have to max him over the summer because that's what he wants....

I'm hoping we get in on this deal and pry away Gortat!

he is not worth a max... if the rockets does get him... it would be impossible to resign any of the current players when their contract is up

The Suns are pursuing Josh Smith, according to multiple league sources. Phoenix will try to acquire Smith before the deadline or, if that fails, through a sign-and-trade deal next offseason. The Suns are very interested in Smith and have had exploratory talks with the Atlanta Hawks about the 27-year-old forward. Phoenix views Smith as a franchise player who can be one of the cornerstones of the team for years to come.

    LOL!!!!

Probably the best Suns source there is:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>The stories about the Suns being interested in Josh Smith are ridiculous, there is zero interest there -ZERO!</p>&mdash; John Gambadoro (@Gambo620) <a href="https://twitter.com/Gambo620/status/297209601449930753">1. Februar 2013</a></blockquote>

And have never even had a conversation with ATL about him</p>&mdash; John Gambadoro (@Gambo620) <a href="https://twitter.com/Gambo620/status/297212151221854210">1. Februar 2013</a></blockquote>

Yeah....it's hard to take Alex Kennedy seriously at this point when it comes to rumors. I mean...the dude is only 21 years old. I have a hard time believing he's already generated numerous reputable inside sources already.

He's a pretty solid writer, who knows the game and understands how things work, but he's just not reliable.

If we assume that Morey wants to go after an unrestricted free agent, who would be a better fit than Josh Smith? Unless, of course, the Rockets plan to wait until Summer 2014, which I don't see happening. After all, Les wants to "win now".
