I've stopped caring about these random combos- it's what the kids are into these days and these kinds of things make schools more attractive for recruits. The only thing Oregon's hideous and never-ending combinations have done is made them even more famous. Make the jerseys chrome for all I care- just get the talent.
I guess when you can't print "Champions" on anything, schizophrenic stuff like this is how you sell merchandise. Has UT changed their basic uniform even once since the '50s?
Yikes. Can that grass field take an extra 6 games next year? Using the turf for UH and turning around and putting in grass for the Texans seems like it would be too hard to do.
Isn't UH kind of a BCS school now though? I mean, the Big East is still a BCS conference and these kids were recruited for the 2013 season in which UH will play as a member of the Big East.
I think they already made the transition a few times this past season. Besides, it's not like every UH home game is going to rub up against Texans home games. It'll probably only happen a few times.
The new stadium (groundbreaking was today), is going to have turf and not real grass. I'm just not a big fan of reliant for anything other than NFL football. If we do play there, i'd like to see them block off the top bowl and just sell tickets in the lower bowl. Otherwise its gonna look pretty empty.
Maybe they could've used the Dynamo's stadium since the Dynamo used Roberson for 6 years. But Compass stadium only seats 22K so it may have been too small for UH, at least for some games.
Well it would be a nice way to create demand i guess, but I believe our season attendance average last season was higher than the max capacity at BBVA. And keep in mind that we sucked last year. I'd rather play the games at Rice stadium.
I'm not sure how you guys do the twitter embed thing, but: https://twitter.com/UniWatch/status/303984422598873088/photo/1

If the Daily had pulled this, you'd reading another editorial about stacks of papers "disappearing" from the Athletic/Alumni Center. "The first copy is free, each additional copy is 25 cents."
FWIW Football: UH lands former USC product Wide receiver Markeith Ambles, a former four-star recruit who originally signed with USC, is set to join the University of Houston, a source confirmed Monday. http://blog.chron.com/cougars/2013/04/football-uscs-troubles-could-be-uhs-treasure/#comments
