Wasnt the worst to me. Definitely most comical. I was laughing hysterically. Brad's facial expressions were cracking me up.
Everybody will pick the usual stuff, so I'll pick something nobody else will pick. About the most frustrating player in Rockets history for me to watch outside of Ralph Sampson was Buck Johnson. And this play tells you why. Buck Johnson hits a beyond-mid-court 3 pointer with 1 second left. What the clip doesn't show you is that Buck was high-fiving somebody when he realized "hey, there's still a second left on the clock" and all of a sudden tries to hustle back on D. Too late. The Clippers inbound the ball to Danny Manning and he knocks down a 3 from mid-court in retaliation. Craziest sequence of possessions. This link should start right at the clip. Like I said, sadly, it doesn't show the look on Buck Johnson's face as he's slapping high fives and then gets the "oh crap" look on his face as he tries to bust back on defense. http://youtu.be/3aiiJNwuo-o?t=1m38s
Because the dude played his heart out for the Rockets until that point, at which point most people on this board decided to pretend he never cared at all.
This is the worst sequence to me. Game 7 at home. Less than 2 minutes left in the game. Rockets keep giving away offensive rebounds...one after another. Boozer beating Yao to boards. Harping beating Battier to loose balls. Add the Alston turnover a few minutes prior to this and with the Rockets up around a half a dozen points. That entire series was a disgrace. Rockets put up some pitiful performances and set some embarrassing records during that series but those last 2 minutes were a complete disaster. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/9NEAvvARppc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Yeah, but even then there are just so many game-ending open missed 3's in any franchise I find it ridiculous to be claimed "the worst play". IMO an air ball free throw would be much more demoralizing, but not worthy even as a top ten worst play.
Very disrespectful and demeaning to create a thread like this? Are you a Rockets fan or not?? Nobody wants to relive or revisit the worst play in Rockets history you dimwit! Boy I sure hate to be your friend with that kind of attitude.
The worst in Rockets history is unquestionably the one with Rudy T getting knocked out by Kermit Washington, ending his career. Honorable mentions that stick out in my mind can be categorized further, depending on what aspect of "worst" we're talking about: Most humiliating: Yao being blocked by Nate Robinson Saddest: Brad Miller Most disgusting: Tmac giving up against Toronto Most devastating: The Stockton 3 pointer Anyone citing any play in the last couple of years is not qualified to talk about Rockets history since all of the inconsequential crap plays this year pale in comparison with these plays. If you think Lin's airball is worse than the Rudy T punch, you need to just stop watching the Rox. Just stop.
LOL you say that like its an accomplishment. there's players who haven't airballed all season. 1.Lins Airball 2.Brad Milllers 30 secs.
It's either this. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kermit_Washington#Infamous_punch Or it's the Lin airball against the Heat.
I recall a play in a tight game where Allen Leavell stole the ball and had a wide open breakaway layup....in midair he decided to dunk instead of laying it in.....he was blocked by the rim. Sweet. When I read the thread title, Stockton's 3 instantly came to mind. Holy crap that sucked.
