Football season is over for us, I would have rather heard Morey.

Gosh. And they say Houston is a football town and could give a #### about the Rockets. Hunh. Go figure.

People hardly care about a team that doesn't even appear on television.

To be fair, they are on radio row in New Orleans. If they let Watt pass them by they don't get another shot at him. Morey understood completely.

Total side rant, but I just want to say the NFL is the most over-hyped product in professional sports. They are so good at marketing, it's ridiculous. From the "Super Bowl" to useless "OTAs" in the summer to keep people talking about the league year-round. I just wish they would give it a rest.

Would have rather heard Morey as well.

That is absolutely ridiculous. For a general manager to be kicked off the air is disturbing. It just goes to show you the radio station is completely biased and shows no respect for the rockets.

If I was Morey i'd be pretty annoyed it isn't as if he is obligated to do these interviews. We have the privilege of having our general manager of our team on every week and he gets dissed like this is just sad.

They seem to care about one that disappears on television ...

I would understand it more if Texans were still playing. JJ is there just to do product promotion. Their season is over. I also doubt that JJ is that busy that he can't get interviewed by a Houston radio station any other time. Not like he has a practice or film session to go to.

I chuckled at how they got Daryl to help segue himself off the air, too.

790 is the official station and a few times they weren't even on 790. I think they were on 740. 740 has a much better signal, but they don't even announce it sometimes. I thought 610 was bad for them, but 790 is just as bad. At least I expect matt and adam talk rockets, but 95% of the time it is all football. How much can you talk about matt or the five technique or the back up inside linebacker, or the the 4th wide receiver. I understand no one cares about the rockets, but they are the flagship. They could try.

In fairness to these talkshow hosts, I'm thinking they could bring up the Rockets, but the discussion will probably get diverted back to football talk. Not to mention all the people calling up probably just want to talk Texans anyway - same ol' rehashed crap over and over.

Radio guests are just fleeting assets that they use to garner ratings and revenues. Morey got Morey'd here, plain and simple. Or in his terms they chose not to "extend" his interview. Radio guest option was the deal breaker.

    "Hey Matt Schaub sucks"
"Hey Kubiak is not a good head coach"
"Rick Smith has done a bad job drafting"
"Bob Mcnair cares more about money than winning"

All I heard this whole week.

No, they try. 790 AM is a great home for the Rockets. Charlie, Lance, Matt and Adam ALL know their Houston Rockets basketball (unlike many radio hosts).

This was an isolated incident in what I have otherwise found to be a terrific relationship between NBA team and local radio station.

(All the football talk is just a product of living on Houston, Texas.)

Come on now. They're on radio row in New Orleans. Morey knows what's up.
