Another reason why Hickson is unlikely to be moved is that he is a "One-Year Bird" free agent, meaning that he has veto power over any trade because he would lose his Bird rights if traded.

Given the good (statistical) year he's having, Hickson is not going to want to give up his Bird rights, in the hopes that Portland would shell out for him this summer, although he might possibly gamble agreeing to a trade to somewhere like Houston or Atlanta, a team expected to have a bunch of cap room.

Still, my guess is that he'd nix pretty much any trade involving him.

Not that it makes any sense why CP3 would say this - seeing as he already is part of a mini Big [X] of sorts in LA (yes they need the 3rd of the Big 3, but then again there's nothing to say that a Big 2 surrounded by a LOT of really solid above average guys can't win multiple championships... not that my money is on the Clips)...

... but even if CP3 said to Clippers management there is a 1000000% chance I am not resigning here in the offseason, if I'm Clippers management I still say, ok great, we're not trading you anyway. For that organization, I'd definitely take 1 great playoff run over trading CP3. Especially for the crap you proposed. But even if they could trade him to Charlotte and get back Kemba Walker plus 2 unprotected first round picks, I still wouldn't do it as Clippers management. They know better than anyone else the crap-shot that is the NBA draft lottery and draft picks.

Moreover, Paul would get a TON of pressure from the city, etc. For Clippers fans to finally have a potential championship squad only to see Paul ruin it. We're not talking about people in Orlando hating you, we're taking about people in LA, a huge ad market. And finally, there's the money issue, where he would get less from another team.

If there was ever a situation where a team should just call a players bluff about not resigning, it would be with CP3 and the Clippers.

Why I posted such a long response to such a clearly crazy not happening trade proposal (though, way to dream big!), I don't know.

I really think I came up with a trade proposal that could really help all teams involved.

I would explain all the reasons the other teams in this trade benefit, but there is really no need since most of you are smart enough to figure it out on your own. The only notables we lose are J. Lin & D-Mo. We build a more balanced team and add depth without losing the majority of our assets and flexibility. I still think we would need to find a back sg or combo guard on the cheap like maybe Barbosa from Boston or Neal from San Antonio, but Delfino can fill that role just fine.

Downside is we would lose 4.7mil in cap space for next year that we would have if our current roster stays the same until next year which I don't it would. We do However get our coveted stretch 4 on a good contract and surround our star in Harden with shooters who all but Beasley have high BBIQ.

    http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=atwx9fc

    Telfair / Beverly
    Harden / Delfino
    Parsons / Beasley
    R. Anderson / 2-Pat
    Asik / O'neal

    Morris,Jones,White, and J. Anderson

I really would like to know what my fellow Rockets fans think about this trade proposal whether you praise me or flame me.

The Hornets already have Vasquez @ PG and the Pacers already have G. Hill @ PG. I'm not sure why the other teams would want to be involved. Who's going to play PG for the Suns?

Vasquez is the only good pg they have. Pelicans get get pg insurance and 2 completely different young bigs for only giving up a back up pf and an undeveloped sg.

For the Pacers Hill would move to the 2 while Lin plays point and George at the three. Gives them more balance and the Pacers have no real sg.

Douglas plays pg. He is serviceable plus they have plenty of back up pg's. Suns had to lose somewhere to pick up a star in Granger.

You're asking for trouble if you trade for Dragic who's making $8M a year for the next few years as a starter to backup Vasquez who's only making $1M-$2M and putting up higher assists numbers and probably has a higher upside.

I see your point. It is difficult to make a muti team trade where every team comes out smelling like roses though.

Why? Are you crazy? That nullifies all of our capspace this offseason and next year. Why on earth would you spend it on an injured Hedo

The team is fine. Just trade the coach.

For Houston - yep, I'd do it.

Phoenix - I wouldn't do it. But then the Suns don't seem to have a clear plan, so maybe they would...

Indiana - they get a longer contract and a worse player. No.

Hornets - the deal seems about fair for them in assets. But I think they'd much rather keep Anderson. Anderson is just a unique role player. You have a PF making 3 3s a game. He'll break Ray Allen's record some day if he keeps this up. They have a nice point guard and they can some depth in less painful ways, they have cap space and picks.
