I have been having an issue with uverse giving me the discount they promised me. I just got a call today from the secretary of the president. Hopefully I can get my discount that was promised to me.
I have Xfinity cable currently, and love watching the Rockets. However, we're almost 1/2 way through the season and over 1/2 of Houston can't watch their own hometown sports teams. I will be terminating the cable services with them tomorrow, and this dispute had a pretty big factor in it.
I just checked my Yahoo phone app to get some info on my beloved Rockets and I discovered that I literally don't know half the players on our roster. I've been following this team religiously for over 30 years and that has NEVER been the case before. I've always known everything about all 12 players on that roster. Out of sight out of mind, I suppose. Makes me sad. Oh well....back to the Hangout.
The Houston Rockets basketball team is the No. 4 most profitable team in the National Basketball Association, according to Forbes magazine. I guess this CSN deal has helped them with their profit margins. Screwing fans for the sake of profit.
Seems odd. According to ESPN, we are in the bottom 1/3 of the league in attendance to date. Not much going on in the playoffs department. And some big contracts to pay off until very recently.
Suites....luxury boxes...bars in the arena... all of these are game changers. They're the NBA franchise in a city with the 3rd most Fortune 500 companies of any city in the country. Selling more $30 seats in the top level ain't worth much to them. It's a corporate game in a very corporate city. And they're the beneficiary of a very generous (but binding) lease that gives Les full control over that building. This is why that franchise isn't moving anywhere. It's just ridiculously profitable.
This. The umbrella company that my company works under owns a suite, and being an accountant, I sometimes see the bills. And holy ****, there's no way they aren't turning a huge profit.
I have often said that if Congress ever removes tax deductibility for businesses buying sports tickets, player salaries and ticket prices would plummet. Sports are not designed for the average fan.
nice to see csn sports network have a Super Bowl commercial. where all the atheletes of h town begged to get csn lol not sure if it's gonna help though but I can honestly say being a uverse subscriber I have seen only 3 games this season this team is losing on and off the court with thier fan base smh.
It makes me sad I can't watch my team living less than 15 minutes from tc, but I can watch a miami heat game every other night. Hopefully they make the playoffs tnt won't block me out will they?
Every morning it's the same thing. Come to Clutchfans, check CSN thread for any updates....then leave GARM for the rest of the day. Not much to add, since I can't watch the games.....
Yeah, it seriously blows I can't watch the games but it has given me a new appreciation for Craig Ackerman on the AM. I was a LOYAL Peterson and Foley fan, grew up with them and didn't see this change winning me over. Thanks to no TV I've had the pleasure of listening to him call so many games this year and now dig the guy. Very fun to listen to and keeps you interested and psyched. Last night was fun with all of the 3's dropping. I thought he was gonna lay one in his boxers.
