The combo guy I want is Tyreke Evans. Once again like the Bargnani idea I've mentioned in another thread, a change of scenery will undoubtedly be good for him. I don't believe his trade value is so high that the Rockets couldn't make a deal Sac would accept. They have a trading history with each other as well.

actually, Lowry wasn't a great 3-pt shooter coming out of Memphis either. He worked on his game relentlessly and improved his shooting. That's why i was saying that he's Kyle Lowry before Kyle Lowry was Kyle Lowry ...with better defense actually.

Lowry was shooting 24% from 3 with Memphis, 27% his first full year with the rockets, and above 37% every year after that. Hard work and practice really do pay off. I miss the little guy.

Every time I saw the Bobcates play, I wonder why he was in the NBA. The guy is one of the worst back court player I have seen in the past couple decades.

I guess having a NBA coach as dad does help.

Evans is a good choice. But I don't think they will make that Trade.

Stephen Curry would be so good on this team.

wow, way to put harden on a pedestal... those 4 can completely take over a game by shooting the ball. harden cannot. his game so far is predicated on drives and fouls. we have seen what happens when the refs dont call fouls. we have seen what happens when they double him or pack the paint. it aint pretty....

which is a problem, an underlying problem. patterson's comments point directly at this problem.

he's not a spot 3 point shooter. this is well known. why would the coaches put him there if he sucks at it? that's the real problem... the same can be said of "forcing" patterson to shoot threes. his baseline j has been sweet lately. this is what he should have been doing all along, not 3s.

what you dont say, but seems presumed is that this pg would just give it to harden so he can shoot 30 times a game.... in other words you wanna see iso heavy hero ball.

he's struggled, but he also has a new and different role that isnt exactly in line with his skill set. if you do not see this then that's your problem. and that's not an excuse, more so an explanation.

I agree with that. He looks very confident and very able to handle pressure, read the defense, and get people involved in such a way that they will WANT to continue finding ways to get open.

He reminds me of Dragic when he was playing behind Nash in a way.

I want a combo guard who can create his own shot, shoot the 3 and run the offense but most importantly light it up on any given night. In a perfect world that player would be Jamal Crawford or Jason Terry from a few years ago with the Mavs. That instant offense off the bench. but since that's not going to happen I'lll throw out some other possibilities.

Jordan Crawford- Young, dirt cheap, good size, John Wall is back.

Marcus Thornton- He played really well the previous 2 seasons but he got paid and now he's lost in that mess in Sacramento. He can light it up, dribble to create his own shot, get to the rim and hit the 3. I'd imagine he could be had if we wanted him.

JJ Redick- would be great off the bench to come in and light it up. He's an expiring contract though so I bet the Magic will want to keep him. Maybe an off-season target if you can get him for a good deal.

Marshon Brooks- Young, dirt, cheap, pretty much not being used in Brooklyn. Nick Young V 2.0 which we could use on this team.

Ben Gordon- Older of the bunch and he's making big money but he may be worth it. He can light it up with the best of them when he's on and he brings veteran leadership. He could be that Jason Terry guy from the Mavs a few years ago.

Out of the guys I listed I really like Marcus Thornton the more I think about it. He's kind of fell under the radar and seems to have been forgotten about. He's kind of like Lowry or Dragic in a sense that they weren't very highly saught after before coming here and we didn't have much expectations. The only difference is Thornton has already been paid and he's proven he can play in the past. He just needs to have that opportunity and a change of scenery would suit him well. He's only 25 as well so he'd fit right in with our core.

Here's a good scouting report on him from a couple years ago

    Hmm not sure about that.

He is a better athlete but not as good an intuitive passer.

Also, will he learn to shoot? Not everyone one gets better at it (Strickland).

Agree that he's not the passer Lowry was, but he's a better defensive player. Good point that he may never develop into the shooter Lowry is, but i think his defense, talent, and youth alone is worth hanging your hat on. My point is that I see a lot of upside there.

I couldnt agree more. that is why i believe with this team he would fit as the 6th man much better. he can dominate the ball when he comes off the bench, which we all know is when he is most effective. plus having a big man like greg smith, who catches everything and a great finisher will make their pick and roll a very very good one.

I do presume that because that is what our coaches decided our offense will be. So I am making observations based on the coaches decisions. What do you think Derek Fisher did for 10 years playing next to Kobe?? Make 3's, play D, low TO's. I never said I want Harden Iso, but the reality of the situation is that the Rockets when in the half court play like that alot. and if the offense is hero ball, like the coaches apparently are fine with, Harden is better than Lin, that's the whole point of this discussion.

Again, I do know it's not his skill set. But our team is better with the ball in Harden's hands rather than Lin's. Your team philosophy and rotation should be based off of the skill set of your players, on this Team, that is utilizing the fast break, and maximizing the half-court offense by going through James Harden.

not sure if you saw the game yesterday, but lin played great. discount his pts in garabage time, he was able to get by lawson pretty much at will with asik screening. ball was moving, it was quite entertaining to watch till he got subbed out around 7 mins mark in the 3rd. TD came in and performed too. we lost the game because a) gali just made some very tough shot, well defended by parsons and defino. b) TOs by parson at the end of 3rd c)TOs by harden, one of the most horrifying cross court pass that i've ever witnessed. Lin blew a layup in the 4th with 3 mins to go. Overall, Lin played well last game. defended well. good hands, appear to be everywhere, forced miller and iguodala TOs in the post. I don't he struggled at all last couple games.

This rockets team is inexperienced, and that is all. they will make mistakes while growing. coaches and fans need to be forgiving and encouraging. I really do see a little bit of kidd in lin. strong, unselfish, and sacrificing everything for the win type of the guard.

um....all these names ya'll talkin about can be starters for other teams. no way eric bledsoe comes here to be a bench player.

I don't see the rocket's going after any guards unless they decide to trade lin.
