How do you know this when you don't know the coaches are running/calling?

The only recent thing we fans have been let in on, which was a while back, was when McHale called for a screen, only to be waived off by Lin. The end result wasn't positive or McHale's fault.

I've wondered if this kind of thing is going on with Lin. He is a self-described scoring-minded point guard having to shoulder the responsibility of running an offense that is, in part, designed to get other guys going. It can be a lot to deal with, especially when the team is struggling and you believe you can score the quick 2 to get things rolling again.

He's young and still learning, though.

I am seeing the brilliance of this thread now three months and 48 games into the season and having just lost a winnable third game at the Nuggets right after slaughtering the Jazz at their home for 45 points two nights ago.

McHale and Sampson clearly have NOT improved even a tiny bit from last season, same problems and same attitude, as I just read all the posts from the beginning of this thread.

They have had their chance and it's time to take action, or we will waste another season on this very coachable young and talented squad.

Hope Morey and Les see all these posts.

If this is a rebuilding and development year, we need a coach that can develop and handle young players.

If this is a contending year, we need a coach that has enough postseason win records.

Either way, McHale and Sampson are not a fit for the jobs.

Melo was the guy who rebelled against D'Antoni's offense because it wasn't centered around him. This is common knowledge - if you don't believe me look it up. Lin went along with standing in the corner and didn't complain this year. Based on this I'd say the evidence was that Melo was the problem last year (not that it matters at all now - not sure why this is being discussed in the Fire McHale thread).

There has never been a play that Melo didn't think should have been originally called for him. That guy was a ball hog last year, dogged it several matches and got D'Antoni fired.
And also, LOL at those people speculating that Lin is not running Mc Hale's plays. After all, how can one not believe that a well-known crap spot-up shooting PG will give up running the offense and go brick corner 3s on his own volition and against Mc Hale's wishes?

I totally agree with you as I am reading your post three months later.

I have started to think even before our 7-game losing streak that we actually might do better than the 25-23 record if we did not have a coaching staff and just left it to our smart players to choose their leader and map out their game plan and make the in-game decisions themselves based on self-organization and collective wisdom theories.

    Just my own thoughts.

So we can't trust our own eyes now? Has Lin been playing selfish?

Maybe the NY press had it all wrong last year blaming Melo for D'Antoni's resignation, when all along it was Lin that was the one sabotaging the coach.

There are some occasions where the smell test is useful. Stop sniffing the coke so that you can smell the obvious.

McHale should get us/lure Garnett or Love before he gets fired.

This. I feel that a veteran presence like Garnett will be invaluable. If he was on the floor against the Nugget, maybe the players would not have panicked and tried to make hasty plays instead of playing smart and closing out the game.

KG would be SO good for this team. I hate when he sets illegal screens against us but I would love it if he did it for us. No more of the nonsense screens that Morris & Ppatt set. Plus KG is a G nobody would be messing with us. Our front court players are so soft man (sans Asik) we need some toughness at the 4 spot. I always get angry when guys like Henderson & Biyombo & Ibaka block Lin & harden's shots & we have nobody to return the favour, having KG & Asik would be great for us defensively.

But I don't know if KG can rock with the pace the Rockets play. I think it would kill him.

I don't know if you heared this last night or not but everytime jeremy lin got the ball I could hear McFail yalling "move the ball, move the ball" he doesn't want jeremy to run the offense. SMH

Yea this young team doesn't know how to muck up a game. During that DEN 4th quarter run, McHale should have put in Smith and told him to rough up Gallo or Iggy w/ a hard foul - just to take them out of their rhythm.

How would and should we react if we ever lose like the Jazz did to us ;) That was the most embarrassing beating I've ever seen.

LOL I love Greg but I don't think he has the focus to execute that, he would probably go out there & tie his shoelaces first or some ****. Like I remember one of the earlier Nuggets game, Iggy blatantly pushed Lin in transition no call. On one of Lin's drives last night he was shoved in the back no call. Harden gets routinely hacked no call. I don't really have a issue with the refs swallowing there whistles but this team has to get mean. But we are so young & so ****ing nice.

The only person I have seen do something remotely mean is Asik, fouling Nate Robinson hard when was talking smack. Ooo actually Parsons kicked the ball once when Melo bent down to pick it up when he played the Knicks.

KG would be great for this team, would instantly upgrade our mean factor. But he may have a no trade clause, so all of this maybe wishful thinking. A fan can dream though.

He's trying to make Jeremy mess up to cover up his failure.
As far as I could tell, Jin was very quick and under control.
