Morey doesn't believe in using analytics on coaches either. Whether you want to use stats or the eye test it's clear McHale is not one of the better coaches in the league. We want to land superstars, but we don't care about having a good coach? Makes no sense.
Harden played great tonight outside of garbage time. Unless you think Denver somehow made him miss those free throws... And OKC isn't even an elite defensive team. Anyway, I think it's likely McHale is here until his contract ends barring another season ending collapse, which is unfortunate.
I think Mchale is here for this season at least. But might get fired next season even with a playoff berth.
You nailed it. This game was huge for us and it was practically ours had he not given it away. fast forward 3 years>>
mchale gives me some hope with decent defensive adjustments vs the nets and jazz, then tonight he sends JL to the bench with 7 minutes left in the 3rd til 10 minutes left in the 4th. despite JL playing in the paint all night and owning Lawson (even the nuggets announcers went off about this). ANOTHER dumbfounding rotation. he's like a r****ded kid playing with Lego.
COULD U PLEASE LET JEREMY GO!!!! EVEN GO TO A CREEPY TEAM. I KNOW THERE MUST BE A LOT TEAMS WHICH NEED HIM.HOW ABOUT Dallas.
The coach was a big and doesn't know a PG's game. This has been proved from time to time from his player rotation and role assignments. This is the reason why our ball movement has always been inconsistent. For today's Nuggets' game, the rhythm of our team had been messed up despite a few sparks during the 3rd quarter and it's too late to rebuild it during the 4th quarter when the opponent had a great momentum and a lead. I would rather watching a fluid game even if we lose than watching the coaches experimenting various odd rotations for an ugly game.

I think that's the biggest problem with McHale. He only seems to focus on the individual player rather than their impact on the team. So he sees Douglas is doing well by himself (and he was) but he was hurting the team as a whole. And yet McHale stuck with him. Likewise, he see's Lin missing a few shots or getting turnovers, but his overall play actually helps the team, and yet McHale doesn't care about that and takes him out.
Douglas played good but it is so obvious that the team was playing better with Lin in the game. Do you really think Mchale doesn't realize this? He also waiting to long to bring Omer back in at the end of the 4th in my opinion.
