    Rudy Gay is not a type of player that was a fit for a team like Memphis. Rudy Gay is better when he is the go to guy or the second go to guy.

    -Prince gives Memphis the same type of defense. Much smarter. Experienced in the playoffs. Can hit open 3s and move w/o the ball. And now everyone has their roles.
    -Davis gives Memphis someone to look forward to once Randolph is done as he grows under Zach and Marc.

    Rudy Gay WAS the only player on the team that excels in the half-court game and in transition. No other player on the team can do both equally well. To say that he was a bad fit is assuming that the team should sell out to randolph basketball.

    Like I said, what made the grizzlies dangerous was their flexibility.

    What made the Grizzlies dangerous was their defense. Their offense was a train wreck and Gay was a prime culprit.

    Didn't the Grizzlies play pretty good ball two years ago after Gay went down? Getting rid of that huge contract is a blessing.

    Seems the new guy buys the house, and now wants to remodel it. I mean, why buy a team if you can't make moves? I think this is likely only step 1. Zbo may be next to go. Figure they would build around Gasol (plus Conley and now Davis).

    One issue with Gay is that he hasn't shot the 3 well for a couple seasons now. Not a killer except their other guys don't hit 3s either and it screws with the spacing.

    Btw gay made grizzlies contenders.. God knows what prince is gonna do. Not as good as gay. Y'all underrate gay a lot. The only good thing was bench and money.
