I was hoping Morey would find a way to get involved, but it looks like the Griz wanted a replacement 3, and other than Parsons (who ain't going anywhere) we don't have a player that fits.

@WojYahooNBA: Y! Sources: Memphis sends Rudy Gay to Toronto in three-team trade. http://t.co/fSRPNrd2
I haven't been watching the Pistons but I always thought Daye was considered the future at the 3 for them?
Prince's $7.5 millions off the books. Ok, then. Btw, Memphis was desperately lacking 3-point shooters, and they get a 43% shooter in Prince and a 53% one in Austin Daye. Plus, Ed Davis basically doubles the production of recently departed Speights.
Also Prince is a way better defender than Gay. Really good trade for the Grizz imo. I think Prince plays better now that he's on a good team again and has motivation.
The Pistons? With lots of cap room? In a bleh free agent class? Now where have I heard this story before?
Do you know how hard it is for Toronto to get free agents to sign there.they have no choice but trade for over paid guys. Memphis trade their top scorer in the middle of a playoff hunt. Makes no since. Detroit, well Detroit is just like the actual city. A mess and horribly managed.
Man, the Conley-Allen-Prince-Randolph-Gasol lineup will be extremely tough to score on in halfcourt offense sets.
Knowing Detroit, they'll probably give like $10 million to Dorell Wright or Corey Brewer or something dumb like that.
Rudy Gay makes no sense in Toronto. He's got a terrible contract and the Raptors already have 2 younger athletic swingmen in DeRozan and Ross. Plus they just gave DeRozan an extension. Ross is a few years away since he's so young but I'd rather give him the minutes and let him develop instead of taking on that Gay contract. The worst part is none of those guys DeRozan, Ross or Gay have good enough handles to create their own shot on a consistent basis and or create for others and 3 point shooting is not their strength. Those are some of the biggest things which separates Harden from them and I use Harden as an example because we're all familiar with his game and they're all fairly close in age. Now I know there's a lot more factors that go into play than this but I think there's a direct correlation between having a SG/SF tandem with handles/ability to create and success. Of course Defense and ability to knock down shots, players at other positions, capable pg etc. are all major factors as well but the handles/ability to create at either the 2/3 preferably both is huge and there's really no way around that. You need at least 1 player at either SG or SF to be able to do that but having 2 is huge. Think Jordan/Pippen, Wade/Lebron, Kobe/(motivated) Odom, Allen/Pierce, what could've been between Harden/Durant. If the Raptors plan to play Derozan at the 2 and Gay at the 3 it might sound okay for someone who doesn't understand the game but on the court it's going to be a disaster especially when you don't have players to compliment you at other positions. You need at least one player that can do those things I mentioned and neither Derozan or Gay can do either.
