You dont have to call and cancel, it will automatically cancel your ATT service. If there is a fee for terminating your ATT service early, then ATT will charge you. If not, you're good to go.

All you need to do is:

    1) Get a Nexus 4
    2) Buy one of T-Mobile's prepaid micro-SIMs off their website for about $1. The one you linked to won't fit in your phone.

You can activate over the web site, no need to go into the store.

Isn't straight talk cheaper while using the same network. It also has the luxury of using both AT&T and T-mobile's network so coverage should be better.

straight talk is either AT&T OR T-mobile. Can't have both. You'd choose whichever has the better coverage in your area.

isnt straight talk $45 a month? granted you get unlimited text/talk/web...t-mobile offers a $30 plan with unlimited text/data but with only 100 minutes. some don't need many minutes as they text/e-mail more and dont use many minutes. also there are ways around using up minutes (ie: google voice)

at least thats the impression i am under after having asked about a lot of the same stuff a few months back.

If you want a comparable T-Mobile plan, then I think it is more expensive. $50 for unlimited talk/text/data. Though that's only with 100MB 4G ($60 for 2GB, which I think is around when Straight Talk starts throttling users, so it is more comparable).

But yeah, if you're fine with the $30 plan (but not with "real" unlimited talk), it is cheaper.

I don't have straight talk but i signed up for my mother. It's using at&t Or T-mobile's network depending on which you choose so the service is the same as either. It's the customer service that can be a bit tricky.

I'm on the 30 dollar t-mobile plan. 100 minutes unlimited text and 5gb 4g data. I don't even use the text as i use google voice as my primary number which means I use google voice app to text. I make unimportant calls over data and wi-fi and they do the job decently.

Also if you pre-pay 100 bucks on the t-mobile pre-pay you get 15% more minutes and your minutes don't expire until the end of the year so I'm guessing you can actually save up all the minutes you don't use.

I recommend the nexus 4. Best phone i evarrr had! Got it during the last batch and I'm addicted. Grab the bumper while you're at it, it's the best case for it.

Tried out the bumper. I don't find it to be much better than a TPU case, especially since it's $20.

You can definitely find some good cases on Amazon for $10 or less.

I have G.V. too and use it for calling and texting. When I make the switch from T-Mobile post-paid to prepaid, it will be either with T-Mobile or Straight Talk. What I've read about Straight Talk's customer service is downright scary. Doesn't seem worth the trouble when T-Mo has good prepaid plans.

I believe tethering would be an additional $15.00/month to the $30.00.

I find the best way to do straight talk service is via their chat on their webpage. They resolved the issue quickly whereas over the phone they just give you the run around.

Chat, email and then phone if you want straight talk customer service. I put my mom on straight talk because she'll use more data than the 50 dollar pre-paid t-mobile plan will allow. my dad is on t-mobile's 30 dollar 1500 text or minutes since he has no use for data. My parents are so happy to saving money and getting off those horrible contracts.

doing my research before i bought the phone last night. i saw someone saying that they called tmobile and turned voicemail off that way when someone calls you it forwards to another number that is an app or something. seems like a decent way to get around the 100 min a month cap on that plan. otherwise its pretty perfect, a very reasonable price.

Well I like the bumper besid because it didn' doesn't add much bulk like cheap TPU cases and plus it shows off the sexy glass back. It just feels nicer.

But this, might be the case to end all cases, the Ringke Hybrid fusion case.

That one looks solid. I may try it out after I get tired with this one (Poetic Atmospheric).
