Years ago in Salt Lake I was certain I was going to hook up with a girl waaay out of my league. So who shows up and steals her away? Mike f&(@ing Bibby.

Me: "You know he's a daddy's boy right? Only reason he's in the league."
(Keep in mind this is, in the words of Paul, at LEAST an 8/10 girl while I am an 8/50 kind of guy.
    Her: "yeah...he seems nice."
    Me: "but...but...but...he's married!"
This was, of course true but I can still hear how desperate I sounded. Keeps me awake at night.

Met a girl in a nerdy college class I was taking. We flirted a bit and I passed her a note that said "I can beat up every guy in this room" which happened to be true, though it would be true for most guys. She later said that was the clincher.

You youngsters can use that for no charge. Good luck out there.

Well, Westerners (all ethnicities), especially Americans, are notoriously promiscuous... which is very much justified.

Been around many chefs? They're pretty conceded ;) and it was a joke when I said it.

Corniest line I've had success with was my first weekend at tx state. I was at a coffee shop with my buddies listening to music and two cute hipster girls walked up with a jar of oysters. It was strange but I joked hey we have crackers at the apartment. They laughed came to a party, and I got with my first sista that night.

About 9 years ago I tried speed dating, not an experience I recommend. After about 5 dates I got really sick of the standard questions "What do you do? What's your favorite food? What music do you listen to?" So I started out asking "What do you think of Egyptian Middle Kingdom art?" One girl I asked just looked at me mystified for about 10 seconds and then said, "So what do you do?" The next girl I asked started laughing.

    God, this made me laugh.

    This made me laugh harder.

This is the best advice in the thread, the bolded part is pretty key. Otherwise, unless you look like ryan gosling or something, there's no chase for her. Men and Women are both more attracted to people that they have to put a bit of effort in to impress.

OP, I wouldn't mind the people crapping on your technique, it's not a horrible technique if performed right. However, it'd only work on particular girls, but maybe you developed the technique for that purpose. Whatever works OP.

I'm a big believer in just meeting people and hoping to meet someone on the same wave length. The idea of lines or techniques is more for people looking for lite-fun, I, personally, prefer to work towards long-term relationships and that requires a more natural approach in my experience.

Not sure if its a "line" but something I use to say when I was like 13/14/15 years old... I didn't realize how bad of a "line" it was before I used it lol

"I'd rather go to hell with you then to heaven without you"

I thought it sounded sweet.. smh
