I guess people forget the good defensive players that he had around him that allowed him to play his game while they still defended at a high level.

That team did have deke when he was still pretty good, but Iverson put that team on his back that year.

The Cavs who made it to the finals actually had a better rated defense then the 76ers

All in all both teams finished 5th in the leage in ppg allowed with the 76'ers allowing slightly less points (they played a slower pace aswell which is why the cavs defense is rated better)

    PPG Allowed
    Iversons 76ers
    90.4

    Lebrons Cavs
    92.9

What I am saying is both teams played great defense and both Iverson and Lebron has great defensive support

Depends on the system the superstar is playing in.

Durant might be able to carry a team if he had great role player defenders beside him who can hit open shots.

I'm not particularly worried about LBJ losing to a team led by LBJ.

That Phoenix team was absolutely stacked. Kevin Johnson and Dan Majerle in their primes, with Cedric Ceballos, Tom Chambers and Danny Ainge off the bench.

Other than kevin johnson you just named a bunch of role players. Cedric ceballos sucked. Ainge was good but that was also towards the end of his career same with chambers.

Kobe, if he keeps playing like this. Which is averaging almost a triple double. He and Gasol single-handedly "rescued" the Lakers; one by facilitating, the other by sitting on bench. It's still to be seen if they are to make the playoffs, but the chances are good.

They were role-players on that team, which was a testament to their depth and talent. Majerle was an All-Star that year, Ceballos made the team two years later (and led the NBA in FG% that year), and Chambers was still a really effective big who would've started for a lot of teams. That squad in no way resembled the supporting casts that LeBron, Dwight or Iverson took to the Finals.

No mention of Duncan in 2003? He won the Finals with an extremly young Tony Parker and Manu, an old David Robinson, a lot of role players. He was amazing that year...
