Again, we cannot go by statistic only.

In the future, Drummond will be challenging to become one of the best centers in the league. I feel like he might have to blossom in another city, though, since the Pistons already have Monroe (unless converts to power forward) and the coach doesn't have confidence in his game quite so much. I see alot more promise in Drummond now than I saw in Bynum around year 2 or 3.

If it works out, it could be one of the more unstoppable big man combos in modern NBA history.

I think that the Frank has handled Drummond very well.

Drummond is one of those rare people that never should have gone to college. He is not a student, he is a basketball player. I do not mean that as an insult, he was very young in college and did not really enjoy the experience. He is better off being around adults and professionals and learning the game. Although he is immature in some ways, in others he has been an adult for years. He is easily coachable and does not get in trouble.

I really wanted the Rockets to get him in the draft last season, he has a great deal of potential.

I agree, as I've often said college is mostly a stop-gap for the reason that alot of these players simply are not students to begin with and are better off in an environment that can help their skill levels and competitive drive can improve. NCAA/college seems to be an after-thought when it comes to such. I feel like a player flourishes alot more playing in Europe or going directly to the NBA.

Greg Monroe is still better and if he wants to, can become the best center in the league.

I like Monroe too, but he seems to have less upside in my opinion. I do agree that Moroe could become the best the center in the league if he wants to. I feel like you could say that about a lot of centers because nobody is really dominating that position this season. Maybe Varejo, but now he is out for the season. Cousins has awful FG% and issues. Dwight has been injured 3 times in his last 50 games and has been all drama. Lopez can't rebound. Asik can't create or shoot. Both Gasol's seem to be declining. Marc isn't really rebounding this year. Noah has been pretty good, but not great. The door is wide open for for younger players like Sanders, Hickson and Drummond to step up and not look back, if they can.

Lawrence is dumb. He was running jebraca and maxiel out there when its clear drummond is outplaying both guys.

No way, the best centre in the league is Daniel Orton who is putting up 47.2 PP48, the second coming of Wilt Chamberlain!

He may not be the best center in the NBA right now but this kid is really good. 18-18 in 27 minutes tonight. What a beast!

Maybe that means Greg Monroe is expandable?

Why would they trade Monroe? They could have arguably the best front line in the NBA for the next decade or more. No chance they trade Monroe.

And as for Drummond....dude will be an animal in a few years. I always thought he'd be really good, but I had no clue he'd step in and dominate the way he has (though his minutes have been low). If he can keep it up with expanded minutes, he could easily become one of the best centers in the NBA in a few years.

Pistons have a surprisingly very good core. Drummond and Monroe are great, and Brandon Knight is a solid piece in the backcourt. Another solid draft or 2 and this team has the look of a serious threat down the line.

Drummond and Favors are two players who I think will be stars in 2-3 years.

Drummond could be a star already. When he gets minutes he produces. The Bucks do have a weak front line. I know every game won't be this good, but I think if he starts seeing over 36 minutes a game, he'll lead the league in 20-plus rebound games. Other than Crawford and Martin, what 6th man is playing better?

Morey goofed not trading up to get this kid, what a steal by the Pistons.

would clearly be the number 1 overall pick in this years draft

He tried really hard...you can't force someone to trade with you.

Even if we got him, the Thunder would have demanded him in the James Harden trade anyway.

Andre Drummond is the future premiere big man in the NBA

he has no equal in terms of athleticism and speed as a giant

very possibly could reach his potential of being an elite rebounder and shot blocker/defender

will also average a great number of steals because of his sped and quickness

who cares if all he does is dunk. Blake almost always dunks everything and Drummond runs the floor just as well as he does.

Tyson dunks everything and he's usually scoring in double digits.

He's got to resolve his FT shooting though, I'm tired of that big man stereotype who can't shoot free throws.

Great pick for Joe Dumars, not just a home run but a game ending, winning, GRAND SLAM!

Bummer iv liked the kid since high school. I thought he was better than Anthony Davis coming out of high school and then he got to uconn and kinda laid an egg. I guess his game is more NBA than college. I believe he's having a better rookie yr then Anthony Davis this yr even the Davis's stats are a little better. He's def on the way to becoming the best center in the league in 2 seasons. I also agree with the poster who said Drummond and favors will be stars soon I'm very high on favors he has great offensive moves and elite athletism the sky's really the limit for Derrick favors.
