40% is very very very unlikely. I can't see Lin ever shooting around 40% from 3.

Even 35% seems way to optimistic.

So we can't even trust his own words now. What can we trust then? How can you convince me it's the coach/system's fault?

That's exactly what leads me to believe it's his own fault. When he plays with Harden, he somehow doesn't believe in himself anymore and often times defers too much.

To put it on Harden to tell Lin how to play PG is a bit unfair, don't you think? Harden has never been known as a vocal leader, not yet anyway. But from what I can see in recent games, Harden is actually passing the ball back couple of times when Lin does the "hand harden the ball and hide in the corner" routine. So there's improvement there at least...:)

Calvin Murphy adressed & shot down the whole Lin is being passive thing. Murphy said that it is on McHale & it is the plays that McHale is calling.

trust my words. only trust ppl who gain no interest and no benefit from what they says. i would never trust anyone who is a part of the problem.

when a problem arises, coaches need to identify it and find a solution. i don't think they shouldn't take any fault.

harden as only star on this team should act as a comminication channel btw coaches and players. other he shouldn't act like a leader of the team.

Because when someone compares with a guard with a big man, he is making a point that obviously doesn't involve size. There are things that are comparable, like effort, talent, that doesn't necessitate that size being similar. Most understand this. Don't try to make it too complicated by pretending not to understand. Some have compared Jack Nicklaus with Secretariat -- if you were responding, you'd have some comment about whether Nicklaus eats as much hay -- try to get with the program.

Rondo being elite at nearly every level? This kind of statement is pretty simple to demonstrate on its face that you're (and I apologize for the bluntness) ignorant of his game.

How many would agree here that Rondo's midrange jumper is "elite"?

Rondo has a midrange jumper? The anti-kobe: "Why shoot when you can pass?". And Rondo has been playing matador defence all season, trying to poke the ball from behind and all that. Celtics fans have been complaining about it regularly.

At his size playing the PG position, shooting 40% is very realistic. What prevents most players from shooting a high percentage isn't necessarily accuracy (though that is Lin's problem right now) it's the difficulty of getting space. Lin's big enough he doesn't worry too much about that.

He's a tad smaller than Kidd but still a pretty big point guard. I believe in practice he makes about 2/3s of his threes.

You can trust that he is a humble, team first guy who will never finger point to his teammates/coaches but himself when things go bad.

During the losing streak, none of the Rockets players finger point to each other and that is why I begin to like the Rockets (when did you see a young team will hold a players only meeting?).

On the flip side, the coaches had never admit their mistakes for losing a game to protect their young players, e.g. the rotations, the in game adjustments etc during those losing streaks.

    my 2Cs.

Chris Paul shot 40% once in his career from the 3-point line, and that's from only playing half the season.

Clutchfans expectations for Lin is really high. If Lin doesn't beat Magic Johnson in every stat category, then Lin has been a failure for the Rockets.

I also like that none of our main players have tattoos. Harden, Lin, and Asik are all ink free.

Kyle Lowry went from .257, .276, .246, .272 in his second/third/fourth/fifth season to .389 this season. I don't see why Lin shouldn't be able to do the same.

Because for every player that shows this much improvement there are a bunch of other players who don't improve as drastically as Kyle did.

Three point shooting is the easiest thing to fix. It really isn't as hard as you're making it out to be.

Perhaps 40% is a tad unrealistic but any NBA with great work ethic can be a 35%+ shooter.
