All of this is pre-Lin & Harden of course. So there is probably Yao Ming's last 2 semi-healthy years, then the 3 years we essentially played without him.
Interesting...made me wanna look up the value of the franchise ($568 million). That's a 4.9% return on the value of the entire asset. Guess these billionaires really can't look at this investments as true businesses since there are probably easier ways to make money. Les did buy it for $85 mill in 93 though so I guess the real roi is in the appreciation of the franchise and nba brand. Hmmm anyone else want to buy in? I'll chip in $20.
Compare that to a franchise like the Bucks that makes $500,000 a year in profit... is that even league minimum contract? Sign of a well-run franchise.
