lol no nothing is personal, i was just saying i understand what the guy i quoted said. My best friends are asian, and i speak vietnamese.

not liking a player for personal reasons or for his race is simply ignorant, and i highly doubt anyone who calls anyone a LOH, if there are any actual LOHs here, i doubt it has anything to do with his race. Him as a person he's a good guy, but like has been brought up in this thread already, the outlandish ways that the LOFs act, and how delusional they act, like lin is the second coming of jesus, of course thats going to create an opposite reaction. Lin to me is still an average/Below average point guard.

The thread should be re-named: "Jeremy Lin is an average point guard right now who could be pretty good someday," or, even better, "Lin-only fans are a joke a lot of the time."

Then if people stayed on topic the thread would just be full of idiotic statements made by Lin-only fans on the Rockets facebook page, or the comment sections on ESPN, or anywhere else people discuss the Rockets.

A true confession from a LOH? Is that why you are counting every move Lin made tonight and commented in the game thread?

It is obvious to me you are truly a LOH!

Clutchfans are softies compared to Knicks fans, to be honest. This forum is very civil.

iJHolmes and king1 -- they don't like Lin and that's their right. There are Knicks fans who carry such a strange hatred for Lin, it's like 100 times these two posters.

Dear god this is such a great post. You should be able to hit spot up open shots at what ever position you play, especially if you are an NBA player.

That being said, Lin did....exactly just that yesterday and his play was beautiful!

Actually what Rockets2k says is ignorant. It's not adapting to a position when his position is PG. He plays like a PG and has the instincts of a PG. What you are arguing is pretty much this: You are saying that if a coach asked Shaq to play a stretch 5, he would adjust and flourish. Well you know what? Shaq is a horrid basketball player outside of 10 feet. Thats just what it is.

Also, Jason Kidd was not a good shooter, in fact there are many PG's that don't shoot mindblowingly well like Nash and Steph Curry, but what matters is controlling pace.

Not saying that JLin needs a set shot because that will help a LOT, but to say that he sucks because he can't adjust to his 'position' (when you are really saying that he should be playing an entirely different style) is just stupid.

    Position - Instincts.
Style - How you play the position.

Talk about over exaggeration and under exaggeration whenever its convenient. No one said Lin was the second coming of Jesus, and calling Lin average is not the same as calling him a joke. Lin fans are upset when someone disses Lin when he clearly belongs in the NBA. No one is going crazy when someone calls Lin an average PG right now, which he is. The LOFs are all talking about his potential and high ceiling, which could be very subjective, even then, Tony Parker is the highest ceiling I have heard on this forum. So chillax on the LOFs, you guys are no better than them on the other extreme.

I have never called Lin a joke, I've never said he's sucked, i've never even said he's a bad basketball player. Look through all of my post you will not find ONE post bashing lin. Apparently people do go crazy when i call him average, LOFs go crazy and call me a LOH because i don't agree he's as good as they believe. Thats the problem with LOFs, if you dont see anything the same way they do, or if you say any kind of criticism towards Lin. you're a hater, racist, jealous, or just a LOH. it's ridiculous. thats what causes drama on these forums are closed minded LOFs.

oh PLEASE explain to me where i confessed of being a LOH? lolol i would love to hear this. go!

That means Rondo is a horrible player. Celtics should send Rondo to the D league until he improves his shooting.

I hate to reply to this because Rockets2K has been a wonderful contributor to Clutchfans with his videos and posts.

But c'mon ... have you seen John Wall is a joke threads? Career 42% FG% and 23% 3pt%, 7.1% last year in 66 games * 36 min/game, and hasn't hit a 3pt shot in 10 games this year. Per 36 min, John Wall's stats last year wasn't even better than Jeremy Lin in NY.

As a #1 draft pick no less.

That is how you're unable to hit the broadside of a barn. Would you be able to get John Wall at less than 8M/yr when his rookie contract ends? Does John Wall even help his team win? Has he even improved since entering the league?

Want to see John Wall play spot-up SG next to James Harden?

If you can't shoot as a pg, then you have to be elite in another areas. Rondo is an elite passer and still has a .484 fg%. Rubio is another example of an elite passer. They both would be sooooooooooooooooo much better though if they could shoot.

You are right. Rondo & Rubio are also really good defenders.

All of yalls are actually wrong. It's not about playing your game, or playing the game the team needs you to ideally play - it about blending both together. That's on the player and the coach.

While every player should learn to hit a spot-up open jumper - to be used primarily for that purpose is ludicrous unless your name is steve novak.

You don't force your players to play to what the system needs only, you have to also put players in a position where they can do what they are best at. It's fine to have Lin play the role of spot up shooter in certain sets - and ask him to work on his long range shooting for that. But it's also important to make sure he gets to penetrate and create enough because that's what he excels at.

Harden is the best penetrator and scorer on this team. But Lin is the best penetrator and dish guy on this team.

The Rockets seem to know this and are utilizing Lin towards his strengths thankfully...but he does need to learn to shot better from long range...and i think he will.

Rondo use to not have a jump shot. I mean, it was ATROCIOUS. If he can improve, anyone can.

Dwight Howard. As a basketball player, you should be able to shoot FT at a decent percentage, no matter what position you play. And how dare they call you the best center of the entire NBA when you can't simply shoot a FT! ;)
