on the nba section of espn, the poll question is who will win tuesdays matchup in houston.. houston or warriors!!! warriors are currently winning the poll
The 3 with 18s on the clock was a bit much. However, prior to the last possession we had the 3rd string players in... literally players 8-13 on the bench. Those players are pretty much all rookies and sophomores who are trying to earn play time. And we put them in at the start of the 4th quarter. They basically had 12 minutes to show the coaching staff what they could do in a live NBA game in terms of play and in terms of working with their team mates. That's why they were so aggressive offensively and defensively. They were trying to SHOW they belonged in the NBA, not just to our coaches, but to other teams who might pick them up in a trade. Our PF position is stacked 4 deep. We've got Beverly and Toney Douglas fighting for minutes. James Anderson trying to show that he can spell Harden for minutes. And Cole Aldrich trying to show that he can be a legitimate back up center to Asik. So no, I don't blame them one bit for playing their brains out. The only time they should have not shot was when there was no shot clock left, but I'm not entirely sure they were that aware of the situation. These aren't veterans on the floor. The alley oop was a bit over the top, but honestly if shots are open they should take it. It's what they learn in practice. It's what they work on day in and out. It's how our offense is designed. It's not much different than the Utah player shooting a 3 pointer with 7.3s left to avoid the worst loss in Utah's history. Pointless in one way, but meaningful in another. The funny thing is in the Utah locker room interviews, he was told his 3 pointer had avoided the worst Utah loss in history, and he said that he didn't know that it did and he wasn't even thinking about it. He just wanted to play hard and show the coaches that he deserved minutes. I don't think our 3rd stringers are any different.
Not addressing anyone in particular, but can everyone PLEASE stop saying 'play time'... it's 'PLAYING TIME'... 'play time' is something for kindergarteners. Thanks.
These were my favourite screen caps from the game... Enjoy Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler

i'm thinking after this win, the other teams in the league are going to start pressing real hard on their transition D to crimp our style again. we've just set fire to the hornet's nest and we'll kill them hornets one at a time wait. we already did~~ wheee
"The easy thing to do after a 45 point home loss is point out all the things we did wrong. Let's be better fans than that and discuss the things we did RIGHT during tonights game." "**** off." LOLOLOL

lol and if you replaced Harden with Kobe on the Lakers, they would of had a way better season  Can't believe it took that many games for Kobe to realize he was chucking way too much and needed to get his teammates involved.
I'm kind of annoyed by comments that the rockets ran up the score. McHale pulled the starters, subbed in the end of the bench, and told them to run the plays they had been making in practice. It's easy to criticize other players when you're an NBA starter with a guaranteed contract, but for many of those kids at the end of the bench - those 12 minutes and the three's made might actually determine whether they are in the NBA next season. I don't blame them for playing as hard as they can.
