No, quite the opposite. I use it as an indicator that my opinion of him being the player I've watched this season being accurate.

Lin was playing against competition likely better then Yao. You're selling what Yao accomplished here short to prop up Lin. That's not fair.

Lol, he had to get a Harvard degree? That's actually something he should be commended for but it's a ridiculous crutch to use. He got a Harvard degree because he's intelligent and obviously wanted to take full advantage of what was provided for him.

I hope you are not judging this based on the date people join. I've been reading of this site for few years now. Now just because I joined this year I will be labeled as a outrageous LOF. See, now that's sad.

Fans criticize players from their favorite teams. This shouldn't be news to you

Yao never adjusted to the NBA game that fast. He was a much overall worse player than Lin his first 2 seasons in the league.

Apparently we can't apply critique to #7 for the Houston Rockets.

Wasn't doing enough in practice to earn a rotation spot? So Jeremy Lin can't do anything in practice with the Knicks, then somehow just happens to score more points in his first 5 starts than anyone in NBA history. Impossible, even Kobe came out and said the talent was probably always there, he was just overlooked and went unnoticed. For whatever reason he just didn't pass the eye test.

Amare underperform?? Not really until he got hurt. He went off to NY and dropped about 25 points per game. THen Melo showed up and they didnt know what to do. Shawn Marion hasnt under-performed at all. He left Dallas when he was about to turn 30 so naturally his numbers went down a little bit, especially in the Dallas system where you're not the first or 2nd option. He more than held his weight as a Mav and averaged 16 ppg (right about the career average) when he won an NBA title.

LOL how can you tell if someone is pissed from your computer. Is it because i used the word **** lol. I'm not pissed, im telling you to grow up a bit. Someone did point out something though. I have never seen you talk about Harden's Defense, Ppatt rebounding, Omer Asik in ability to catch a pass.

Yes you do care about forums, why else would you complain about how " You have to go through 4 pages of 2012 join dates to find anything worth reading."

I realize that but the way you worded it just made it sound like you spend most your time criticizing. Oh well, I really don't care anymore

That's the thinking which is the whole reason why Linsanity happened in the first place. Kobe said it best when he said a guy like that just doesn't come out of nowhere. He obviously has the ability to play at a high level, its just that everyone overlooked him. You can only conclude that it is racial bias. And it is still present even now. Just last game the commentator said Lin doesn't look like a "high steals guy" even though he's #3 in the NBA this season.

Lin playing against better competition than Yao?? Lin was in the freaking ivy league, those guys can't even make the CBA. CBA filled with players like Eddy Curry , Randolph Morris imagine those guys in the ivy league.

YOu totally missed the boat on the Harvard degree argument. I'm saying if one guy plays basketball full time, and the other guy has to play basketball while also keeping up with the rigors of being an ivy league student......the guy who plays basketball all the time will develop and adjust quicker when it comes time to play in the NBA.

15.5 points, on 51% shooting with 8.6 rebounds and 1.8 blocks. Yeah he was much worse than Lin. I can't wait till Lin gets to Yao's level (healthy yao)

dude king1 is so lost it's not even funny. If he's ever had a job he'd understand the best guy doesnt always get the promotion or gig. THe knicks went with mike bibby for the longest time....does he actually believe jeremy lin looked worse than mike biby in practice before D'Antoni got so desperate to call him in?

Randolph Morris and Eddy Curry probably would've eaten the Ivy League alive, had they been smart enough to attend one of those fine institutions in the first place.

no ***** sherlock. Look at the message I replied to. The guy said Jeremy Lin faced greater competition than Yao Ming heading into the NBA.

I was showing the fool that's not true and you just agreed with me so thanks.

Yao replaced Cato as starting center midway in his rookie year, IIRC.
