I want to know more from you guys about what makes Houston unique or better city than other cities, especially in Texas. I would say abundance of jobs available make this city better than other cities in Texas.

Never lived anywhere else, so I couldn't really tell you. I work with a guy that lived in New York for 25 years and recently moved down here. He says the best thing about Houston is how cheap everything is. I asked him why he moved down here and his response was "I got tired of being broke".

I'm not sure how Houston's cost of living relates to other cities in Texas, but I'm guessing the diversity in Houston makes it a place that really stimulates one's appetite over other cities in Texas.

Proximity to Louisiana and Cajun food/Gambling.
Plethora of sports teams (Rockets, Astros, Texans, Dynamo, Aeros, UH, Rice, decent to great high school teams) ...Dallas comparable
    Diverse culture.

Because its "Houston", just how NY is "NY", Miami is "Miami", Chicago is "Chicago" and LA is "LA"

I live in Austin, and I can objectively say these things are better in Houston.

    Food, especially ethnic
    Friendlier People
    Arts
    Bigger sense of community

Why I don't live there in order. Traffic, Heat, ugly as crap.

Its not that bad. Austin always have traffic everyday on interstate 35. I know there's a lot of traffic in Houston but we have a lot of people living here. Heat? Same there in Austin. I don't know what you mean about ugly as crap.

Lots of jobs, low cost of living, such a big city that all cultures, all walks of life, and any number of subcultures are well represented. Honestly, I don't understand people calling Houston "boring". Those people just haven't found what interests them in the city. It's such a big city you'll find something you'll like!

reason I live in Houston: no traffic (for me). Living in River Oaks, I don't get on the freeways.
