So what, if they make it father time has never lost and the Lakers are on the fast track to losing in that regard.
Howard may need shoulder surgery this offseason: http://touch.latimes.com/#story/la-sp-lakers-fyi-20130128/
Yeah, unfortunately the Lakers are definitely making the playoffs. It was nice to dream about them missing it, but even at their worst, they were only 3-4 games out of the eighth seed, which is not that big of a hole in the first half of the season.
With this sudden development of Kobe playing more like T-Mac in his prime, Lakers will be hard to beat as long as they stay healthy.
never saw T-Mac had those killer post play like kobe in this game. it is a great enjoyment to watch kobe's post play in this game. the blazers lost again.. good news
aside for the hate towards the lakers, personally it would be weird without the lakers in the playoffs. for some reason, it is hard for me to comprehend a playoffs without the lakers and spurs in the mix.
i am afraid hes going to go to his old self pretty soon.... its a decade long addiction...if not hes clearly the best player in the league and la wins the title
Lakers and Mavs are tied in the standings. I hope the Mavs overtake them, yet both still miss out on the playoffs.
Thing is, it seems like Bryant does this almost every year. Plays chuck-it-up ball for most of the year except for a small stretch where it seems like he remembers that there *are* other players on his team. The Lakers always look better when he shares the ball, but I think he just can't do that for more than a few games....it hurts his ego when people start talking about how much better than are when he isn't taking 80% of the shots.(I know he isnt really taking that many, allow me some slight hyperbole willl ya?)
while the last two games were very impressive - Kobe's assists are more of an anomaly really -- Also they were both at home (where they tend to play better of course) it will be interesting to see if Kobe continues this unselfish play (history says he wont) over the course of this long road trip which will really determine this lakers' teams chances at making the playoffs this year. They go .500 or below -- they may not make the playoffs -- 2-3 games above .500 on the trip then they do have a shot for 6-8 in the west. to me if they won 2 road games in that fashion against 2 random western conference teams it would be a bit more impressive than at home.
Personally, I hope the Lakers make the playoffs, or even the Finals. When they get wafflecrushed by OKC/LAC/SAS/MIA, the Laker tears/heartbreak will be even more satisfyingly soul-crushing. Much like I wanted Notre Dame to play any SEC team in the title game... and we all know what happened there
Yep. I'll be shocked if Kobe continues to play this way for the rest of the year. He always reverts back to being a gunner and I don't see why he would do any different this year. It's obvious to anyone that the Lakers are better when Kobe passes instead of shooting all the time yet that's what he was doing for 95% of the season so far.
The Lakers will make the playoffs and make a deep playoff run despite a less than stellar regular season. They are like the 94-95 Rockets. Kobe-Gasol-Artest heart of a champion, adding HOF Dwight Nash!
The chemistry on this team is really fragile. It won't take much to derail them again. Kobe's 'revelation' that he has capable teammates will probably disappear as it has before.
