I don't think Morey will make any major trades. Just upgrade the bench. The Rockets could use a guard who is a defensive specialist coming off the bench.
Would really want to upgrade at the PF...would love it if we could get Milsap..but has to be at the right price...can wait for him to get out of FA...but i think he would fit really well on this team...
This is the perfect opportunity to get rid of JLin if the Rockets want to. Dude is still a brilliant PG and with ball domination he wouldn't be too much if any of a drop from Rondo. Lin can excel to the next level as a member of the Celtics which should make LOFs happy. Rockets aren't going anywhere this year anyways right, trade Lin and pieces for Rondo.
This makes you a COF (Celtics only fans), especially with Rondo just had a torn ACL. Does that makes you happy?
Going for Garnett is an intriguing idea. The McHale/Morey connection with KG/Ainge/Boston. KG will get us into the playoffs and provide invaluable leadership experience for our young team. In summer of 2014, if we want to sign Love or someone else, you pay KG $6 million partial guarantee and let him go if needed. Question is can he fit with our fast tempo style, and what will Boston ask for him.
These suggestions of trading Asik and Parsons are silly. The Rockets are a good, young PF away from being an elite team for the next decade. Asik is a top 10 center on a solid contract, and Parsons is a great all around player/steal at his salary. The team needs a PF that can hit outside shots, and rebound. If I were Morey, I'd call up Utah, and offer them a deal to land Millsap. He has both the range and the rebounding they need at the PF position. Plus, Utah has a glut of big men, and Millsap is about to get paid this summer(which the rockets can afford to do). I'd keep Delfino and try to resign him cheaply next summer. His experience and shooting off the bench is nice to have.
Agreed. Once Asik gets in a groove with Harden, Lin, and Parsons, he'll get easier passes from them and know better what kind of passes to expect. He can develop his scoring through practice.
