    Too bad the ending will read something like "All the hype fades away as Lin is now putting up very average numbers for the Rockets"

    Why do you consider that a bad ending*? I am 100% sure that most of us would change places with an average* NBA player in a heart beat. I would love to make millions in 3 years and peacefully retire afterwards.

    *Half a season with the Rockets is just not long enough to label ANY player average or place an ending on a journey.

    Lin was an undrafted player who is now a starter in the NBA. That alone is a happy ending.

    In his first year as a starter, he's putting up number comparable to a veteran like Mike Conley.

    He has a nice ceiling and should become at least an above average PG.

    You're being childish to think that anything short of Steve Nashness is a downer ending.
