KG is everything the Rockets need...this season. Will he be next season?

I don't know if I like it or not, but it definitely sounds like something Morey would consider. McHale and Garnett have a history, and we know that Morey tried to acquire Gasol last year. Gonna be a lot of talk about this.

For a trade thats center'd around asik, while keeping harden and Lin we'd have to give up damn near the rest of our team for it to work.

Asik - Delfino - Douglas - Aldrich - Patterson - Morris - Jones - Motiejunas would all have to be traded IF you cut Anderson, if you don't we would also have to get rid of Smith, Parsons or Royce...which i already imagine someone is going to insist on parsons.

Anyways best case scenario if morey would go with a trade like that, our team would look like

    Lin/Beverley
    Harden/Lin
    Parsons/Royce
    Garnett/Smith
    Gasol/Smith

Insane switch up, insanely weak bench. Wouldn't be upset if it happened though lol

Sucks, the Celtics were one of the teams I really respected, and Rondo is really the last of the old-school style PG's.

From now on, the league is going to be nothing more than beach parties, karyoke, seven footers shooting threes, and a neverending series of commercials.

I don't understand what you're talking about. "If you cut Anderson"??? Why do the Rockets need to cut a player if they trade out a bunch of their own players in a trade? It would be the OTHER team that might need to waive its own guys in such a scenario.

The Gasol trade would need to involve a ton of player, true. But an Asik-for-KG trade works under the cap as just a one-for-one swap, FWIW.

Anderson can not be traded until march second right? He signed his contract jan second and can't be traded until 3 months after his contract was signed. so we'd have to cut him.

I'd be good with him. It'll be tough to find someone who competes harder than KG

KG is one of the league's biggest douches---maybe THE biggest---but he's a winner. Watching him in person at a game, you notice how he constantly directs traffic, pointing out this and that. He brings accountability. Young players don't want to cross him.

Should we get him? I won't say that. But I wouldn't complain if we did.

I'd rather trade Lin and a PF for Rondo and throw this season in anticipation of having Rondo as our "1" but that won't happen.

...or instead, the Rockets could simply JUST NOT TRADE HIM.

If the Rockets are trading for Gasol, there is no scenario I can envision in which the Rockets would need to start waiving guys still on the roster in order to absorb incoming contracts. It would be the LAKERS who would need to do that.

Now, one scenario I can envision--separate and aside from trades for Gasol or Garnett--would be to waive a guy like Aldrich (if they can't even get a second rounder for him in trades) to create a roster spot for a salary dump like Rip Hamilton. Sure, it could be Anderson who gets waived in THAT scenario; but I think the Rockets would rather maximize the number of players they have under non-guaranteed, league minimum contracts for next summer. Once the trade deadline comes and goes, Aldrich's higher salary will be meaningless to the Rockets.

I would rather just keep Asik and pair him with KG. Should improve D a good deal. Also, KG's lower salary makes a trade easer to pull off without too many pieces as compared to a Pau trade.

Pierce's face when he heard about the tear from Doris Burke was sad.

So, the Celtics players didn't know Rondo would be out for the season during the game? Interesting.

Damn. It's sad seeing some of these great guards in the NBA go down with torn ACLs.

I honestly think the celtics won't be bad. They will still make the playoffs.

if we wanted Garnett, his no trade clause actually might work to our advantage, if McHale is someone he would want to play for
