It would be easier for Clutch to ban d###s as opposed to ban racists. Easier to proof. Lots of them. No where to hide Although it's hard to blame typos when L is spaced so far apart from R on the keyboard. And I'm sure nobody connected Jeremy with Rinsanity last year ... Clutch only needs to do a google search of Jeremy Rin + clutchfans to find them. There will be more than one listing. Here's one for a start. http://bbs.clutchcity.net/showthread.php?p=7062474
You can even find a poster with a username of Jeremy Rin (but he's only posted twice) ... http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?p=7048530
So this something that, according to you, "happens all the time" includes two posts reported? Given the sheer volume of Lin discussions, wouldn't that be par for the course? Outright racist comments? I've seen maybe once or twice. Usually the more combative Lin discussions move a lot faster than I care to check, and I don't exactly backtrack through pages. I do believe the poster someone said above, Kwame, is a racist from the stuff he's posted before. So I'll give you that. Otherwise, I can't think of a single person who's actually made clear racist remarks in GARM. Anyway, for you to make such a sweeping statement that indict the legitimacy of this entire message board, I hope you have something better than "I've reported a couple of posts to clutch" as your proof.
Read Mike_Lu's post above for examples. Sorry, but there should be zero tolerance for that kind of stuff. On other message boards I've been on, that kind of crap would lead to an instant banning, no questions asked. Yet those posters are still here and I never hear anything from Clutch about that- the only complaints I hear are about LOF fans. What if a poster made blatantly anti African American posts on this board? Would it be tolerated in the same way? Doubt it. So why is this tolerated here? Clutch can of course run this board the way that he wants. He does us a great service by having this website and does a great job. However, in this instance, I think that he has it within his power to bring about better discourse and less ignorance, but he does not do so.
For those of you screaming racism, please take it here: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/forumdisplay.php?f=11 Start a thread, call people out and let's see the results. Pointing to instances of alleged racism in this thread or any other GARM thread isn't going to further the cause.
I don't understand everyone alluding to racism. I, along with many others, am bitter that we have such a bright future ahead, and the biggest stain on that is the $25 million we gave away to a below-average starting PG whose claim to fame is hype. If Lin was playing 15 mpg, or being paid $3-4 million a year, I'd be perfectly fine with him being a Rocket. The fact is that he's overpaid and overrated, regardless of race. Yao is one of my top-5 favorite players of All-Time, and I'm sure many other fans here considered "LOH" would claim a similar affinity for the big guy.
Great. In the end you still refuse to provide evidence of "racism all the time" on this board. I'd like to see you provide some examples, because I want to see what you would constitute obvious racisim. So basically, you claim rampant racism against Asians on this board without showing that perceived rampant racism. Now you also claim that this board is also biased towards another wise also without any proof of that favoritism. I'm sensing you are not a Lin fan but rather a troll who just want to rile up controversy for the sake of it.
Why google? Can't you just search directly on clutchfans for "Jeremy Rin" since you are a contributing member?
Lin's contract should not be a problem. It's just a 3 years, not maximum either. The one thing I do agree with most Lin fans here is that he doesn't fit in McFail's square offense for sure. If he is allowed to play the game like yesterday, he is not overpaid for the money he is paid this year.
Where is the outrage of racism in the Royce White threads? He gets ripped way worse then Lin. It's mind numbing how clueless LOFs are
I bet you're one of those guys who are infatuated with Kyrie Irving. Irving is a great athlete, but horrible basketball player. He doesn't know how to involve his teammates and his lack of defense and leadership costs them games more than anything else. With a guy that can put up 25-30 points every night, the Cavs have the 2nd worst record in the league. For some of us, we don't see basketball as a game of HORSE. We see it as a team sport. I left the NBA because it started to become AND1 ball. Lin brought me back because I was excited by ball movement and guys you never heard of scoring.
Yeah okay you can live in your dream world where Irving is a better basketball player than Lin. People who live in reality, aka. non-LOF, will take Irving over Lin any day of the week. That's not even a diss on Lin (just in case you want to start some LOH because you guys are too sensitive). I love Yao but I would also take a young healthy Shaq over him.
He didn't get that hype by sitting around. That's like saying everyone who is a lottery pick is drafted because of his hype. What's the average starting salary for all starting point guards? Even if Lin was below average, 5 mill is still a fair salary.
