The balance between Harden-Lin has been my main concern for this team. Harden is so good that he can put up points whether 1) the ball is in his hands and he is floor general, or 2) the ball is in Lin's hands and Lin is the floor general. The problem with 1) is that it excludes half of the backcourt equation (Lin) and forces the other players to stand around and watch. This reminds me of what happend in NYK last year with Melo. Not saying that Harden is like Melo, because he's not. He's displayed the ability to play WITH Lin and both can still excel. The best scenario is 2) which allows Lin into the picture, and all the other players benefit too, and Harden still gets his points. If these two guys can be at their optimal by playing together with better balance, this team can be very good. Add a solid 4 that can play inside & outside with good rebounding and can set decent screens, and an improved Asik on the offensive end (hopefully over the summer), this team is going to be really really good.
Too eerily quiet! Even in all the wins, GTs were never peaceful. What's BBall forum without posters like King1? They make GARM PERFECT!
seriously, what happened to patterson tonight, he talked about his renewed sense of rebounding... but only got 2 tonight. You can tell that was a key that the coaches talked about. even morris got 10 and asik has crazy.
Assists - 31 Rebounds - 50 Turnovers - 12 Swagger - 100% My game analysis: , , . Can someone let me know what the deal was with the Deron ejection? I got distracted for like 1 minute and then just see him being walked off
I think no one is COMPLAINING his TOS. Lin needs to improve his passing skills. But he also needs to try those passes even if it could result in a TO.
Holy sh_t, I just notice Morris had 10 rebounds in 18 minutes. Does anyone else think that's scored wrong?
Asik stole them all! The type Morris was getting were the ones that bounced right to him and then he threw up bad shots after.
#1 Harden is not just a number one option, he is on of the top 6-7 players in the world at 23 years old. Great game for him, 29/7/7/2 with 0 turnovers and only 15 field goal attempts. He also was overall solid defensively. #2 Lin played better than his stat line shows. He was aggressive and carried the Rockets for bursts when needed. He had some issues with Williams but did not allow it to influence the rest of his game. I have no real issues with anything he did tonight including the long passes. #3 Asik, well he exposed just how bad Lopez on defense. Asik hit the boards and took what the defense would give. #4 Parsons had a Padsons game, good shooting, excellent understanding of pace and hitting timely 3's.
I think he is doing a much better job at boxing out the opposing team player than what he did before. It does not show up in his stats.
Deron was mouthing off to the Refs. The commentators said they could read his lips but they're not allowed to say such words on the air.
This is sad. Does the Toyota Centre look like this most of the time? <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>Linsanity in Houston: empty seats <a href="http://t.co/NVsXI4bE" title="http://twitter.com/NYDNInterNets/status/295338520309035010/photo/1">twitter.com/NYDNInterNets/…</a></p>— Stefan Bondy (@NYDNInterNets) <a href="https://twitter.com/NYDNInterNets/status/295338520309035010">January 27, 2013</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Williams was on fire the first quarter...no one was able to guard him...law of math ment he was going to hit the floor in the next few quarters and he did. Glad the coaches did not knee jerk and make another stupid move with Lin. Think Asik go the message from CF....so he showed up tonight.
My fave pic of delfino, this is how I felt when that charge was called on Lin and blocking fouls on Patterson:
couple of lin turnovers was the result of being aggressive. we've seen him just lose it and throw it away like a klutz, but i could live with him having TOs from trying to get guys going. it took pressure off of harden from initiating the offense, i think he had 0 TOs
I think so, even during the Yao and Tmac era. Need to win in bunches I think for the fans to start showing up.
Attendance stated over 18,000...Morey and NBA got paid...but probably a lot went drinking instead.
