I apoligize for some of my comments last night because I did go a bit overboard. I was excited because the Rockets were playing so well. I don't believe however that saying Lin is an International celebrity is overboard because it is the truth. I also feel happy and proud he is on the Rockets. If others don't feel that way that is their opinion and they are entitled to it.

If you are not trolling, then thanks for the comment.
Everyone knows I'm a Lin fan but you can't force people to be proud of Lin, or put them down just for not feeling the same as you. That's all.

Just be respectful and you'll find your time here happier, or at the very least less frustrating.

Huge win for the Rockets last night -- shaking off the tough stretch in convincing fashion back in New Orleans where the losing streak began.

Players only meeting. Calvin Murphy comments. Not imploding, but pulling together after the hard times. Showing great team defense, and effort, in last night's game. Really proud of this team.

#1 I don't doubt Lin's play making abilities, while he doesn't have the vision/passing skill of Kidd or Nash; he is still very good and I like him running the offense.
#2 You are right, it is a chicken or egg scenario. All I can add is, which is more believable: professionals that are very bright allow the Rockets to lose because they let the offensive system lapse (which they have control over) or the team misses long shots, which crowds the paint and limits the offense and Lin's playmaking ability?

A bit overboard? Just consider yourself lucky. You might want to read the forum for a while, instead of posting, if you want to stick around. That you are still here is a testament to Clutch's forbearance.

Yeah I also noticed that throughout the game. The commentator kept saying it which reminds me of when people say Lin's deceptively quick. But Lins been known for his ability to get steals and has great court vision.

I think Lin's first five points and three assists in the first several minutes of the first quarter opened up a lot of things that led to the flow the game.

I am absolutely thrilled with the winning streak of 1 against NOH who snapped HOU winning streak 2 weeks ago.

I like how the coaches made a deliberate approach to let Lin orchestrate the offense from the very beginning which allows more space for Harden to do his best in scoring. The execution got a hiccup in 2Q and 4Q when Harden took charge/Lin deferred to Harden again to initiate the playmaking. It's a good thing Hornets had bigger hiccup in 4Q.

This is precisely Calvin Murphy's comment that Lin needs control the ball more and Harden simply needs to score. George Karl also commented correctly that Lin is the motor of the offense. PPat was correct to plea Harden to trust his teammates.

Coaches just need to continue to stress to Lin to orchestrate the offense as the first option and if there is nothing, let Harden do his thing which is to score or find the 3PT shooters. Perhaps use 70%-30% ratio for Lin and Harden to initiate offense. Harden is a super efficient scoring machine who doesn't need the ball to get going and Lin is an above-average PG with great court vision who needs the ball in his hands to get going in defense. Harden is a much better SG and Lin is a much better PG.

Coaches definitely offered freedom, maybe too much freedom, for Lin or Harden to initiate the offense but they need to continually stress this point so HOU will win big. There is no doubt that the Rockets need both of them to play well to win against good teams. Just let them play their natural position like HOF-er Calvin Murphy suggested.

Hm, light bulb! Why not hire Calvin Murphy as a consultant?

Next victim is Brooklyn Nets! GO ROCKETS!

Great observation! I hope the coaching staff realize now that even with the 3-pointer efficiency offense theory, they should allow players to play from their strengths and find the flow first even with 2's, rather than trying to force the 3P shooting on every one and nip the momentum.
