Actually, structurally I think we're a better match up against the Net than against Denver. Per Teamranking.com... 16th in Opponent fast break ppg 25th in Opponent fast break efficiency 18th in Opponent FG% 21st in Opponent Points in the paint 26th in Opponent 3pt% 20th in Opponent 2pt% 25th in Assists per game 24th in Assists per possession 17th in TO/possession 21st in Block% 22nd in Blocks/game 25th in Steals/game 18th in Steals/defensive play 29th in Pace 28th in Fast break efficiency 29th in Fast break ppg 14th in Points in the Paint 22nd in 3pt% Translation... they're slow, big, ISO a lot, have sub-par paint and bad 3 point defense, bad in transition and in transition defense, and are average scorers in the paint, sub par scorers from the 3 point line. They are 3rd in drawing fouls, 8th in offensive rebounding, and 7th in total rebounding %age, so we need to crash the boards on both ends and watch the fouls (*cough* Greg Smith *cough*). I think we'll do fine. Unlike Denver (which is basically a more mature version of Houston with a stronger roster), they match up poorly to our strengths. Get out in transition, shoot from 3, and attack the paint and we should be fine.
Winning 12 out of 14 after PJ Carlesimo joined is about as far as the Nets can push the energy of a coaching change. I remember PJ from his time with the GSW. Sprewell had the infamous incident but all the players had issues with PJ after a while. If the Nets run into some challenges, PJ is going to lose his honeymoon with the team. The Nets looked tired and slow last night, and that was before Williams got injured. If the Rockets keep up the pace and focus from last night it should be an entertaining game.
Really eager to see how this game will play out. Hoping to see a high scoring game with of course the Rockets on top.
I hope Patterson can keep up the great play. It was good to see him working inside the three point line instead of camped out on it...
I hope Lin gets back at Deron Williams for last year but it seems like Lin usually doesn't have the energy to play well on back to back games.
2Pat's comments the other day about team ball, and his on court performance last night, really strike me as the kind of leadership which can make a difference for this team. I'm excited to see what he does tonight. Go, go, Rockets!
Brooke Lopez is having a monster season, I have a strange feeling that he's gonna eat our front court alive
Is Deron even playing? Even if he is Deron isn't even the best player on that team anymore. I am more worried about Brook Lopez.
Lin will get DW. It was the Nets' loss last February 4 that started the Linsanity. Then the Hornets snapped the 7-game winning streak, and the Nets came back to revenge with a win.
Rockets really need to impose there pace on the Nets. The Rockets are, by far, the fastest team in the league, averaging nearly 99 possessions per game. Nets, at 90.5, are the slowest.
reggie evans will beast on boards is we dont have our PF's in the paint . Just like last game, Patterson needs to be in the paint scoring and only midrange jumpers. No more corner camping
