Some good articles I came across... I didn't find any writers suggesting the Rockets stand pat and develop the youngins. by Matt Dagostino (1/22) Should Houston make a run at Gasol, Smith, or Millsap? by Michael Pina | January 25, 2013 http://www.*****.net/houston-run-gasol-smith-millsap/11203/ Josh Smith Trade Rumors: Rockets, Grizzlies, Mavericks, Lakers All Possible Options .... http://www.opposingviews.com/i/spor...izzlies-mavericks-lakers-all-possible-options Trades That Could Take Houston Rockets to the Next Level by Preston DeGarmo (1/6) ....
I agree. You'd think he might be available, considering he doesn't even start. I might try to keep Ppat though - he's better at defense than Ryan.
I love Ramon Sessions - I wanted him this offseason - but I think he's going to have similar problems as Lin playing with Harden. Ramon is sort of a poor, poor man's Harden IMO - great at drawing fouls and finishing - needs the ball in his hands. I think we need a PG more like Aaron Brooks on offense - great shooter - could use better defense than Brooks IMO.
There have been some games where I've wondered if Brooks could of helped. I would take him over Douglas to backup Lin. But I really haven't seen how brooks has been since he left. He seemed to drop off a little bit before we let him go. Did he ever pick back up?
We have got to look at every possible avenue to move either Marcus Morris or Patrick Patterson, if not both. Even if we just trade them for "future" picks. Remember Budinger got us the 18th pick in a perceived deep draft. So I would look to move the following players: Douglas, Patterson, Morris and Aldrich
These are the only players the Rockets should package IF possible to get PF but it does not get you JSmith then stay as is till the Summer of FA.
I would rather trade Osik than Patterson. I like Osiks rebounding but its not worth everyone trying to pass him the ball and him losing it out out of bounds twelve times a game. Then i would want Pat to go to the basket a little more like he did against the Hornets. Can you trade coaches like in the NFL?
Not sure who this Osik guy is, but if I haven't heard of him then sure I guess Morey should move him.
Articles seem to say Milsap is a good defender. Is that true? He seems to be getting worked every time I see him play (undersized).
Just dont trade D-Mo or Jones until we know what we have. Don't trade Parsons or Asik unless its part of a package for a star player. Don't trade Harden period. Everyone else should be made avilable.
I think we should move Morris for a few good reasons: -his absence doesn't put our playoff chances at risk -he's a tweener 4 with limited upside -the longer we wait to trade him, the higher his salary and the less desirable he is to other teams -playing Morris comes at the expense of playing time for more talented players on our roster -as an asset, he's less valuable than a mid-round draft pick.
I don't think this is an issue. Moreyball means: Trade non-All Star player before his agent can ask for more money. Rinse. Recycle. So, Ppat is next on the flush list. Then Morris. Tjones will likely be better than Ppat anyway. EDIT: THE TRADES listed above? Sportswriters are so dumb sometimes. The names are ones being bandied about. But they always add Parsons in a deal as a throwin. He's as valuable to us as a Paul Millsap would be, you know?
One week ago, I would have said by all means trade Patterson's @ss but since then the guy has been teasing me with some good old-fashioned power forward play. Heck, even Asik is seemingly getting better at catching the ball.
