I'm starting to think you're right. He's just trying to incite this board. Watch out guys!

I used to dislike Patterson, got all of his points from jump-shots but had little impact on a game with his awful screens, poor effort and hustle and disgraceful boxing-out and boarding.

Then I was a biebliever when he picked up his play ever since starting off from the bench. This guy is a high BBIQ player, and if he hustles and boards like he did tonight he'll be fantastic going forward. McHale needs to put him into a position to succeed though, he can't just be camping at the three all night.

The Patterson and Harden baseline pick and pop was lethal tonight, that's a great player moving forward. Patterson will be invaluable moving forward as teams try to constantly double Harden and Lin off of the screens.

Dood, I get what you are saying. I am simply pointing out that inspiration and reality don't always go hand in hand unless the protagonist is capable of overcoming adversary, otherwise whatever inspiration he brings will flame out like Sun Yue and Wang Zhizhi.

I hope the Rockets will play with the same fluidity against the Nets tomorrow.

I know his story is more than his basketball game. But do you expect his story to end at this level? I hope he can become a star, a superstar and eventually a HOFer. It would be nice for the Rockets to have two solid stars on the team. But it takes time. He needs patience from himself and us fans.

That's because you joined this board in 2012 and Yao has retired for 3 years by then.

Thanks for listening. I don't know what the future will bring - I'm just saying that his story that is portrayed in the movie is an inspirational story of someone who went from not even having a place to sleep to being a millionare. He's a famous person that is now on Houston's team for which Houston should be proud. Nothing to do with basketball ability - that's all I'm saying. Jeez I don't see why that's extreme at all.

Lin really impacted the game with his defense, great to see and let's hope he can apply the same pressure tomorrow. He probably will be tired though having played 37 min.. :/

A good way to end the night would include a Utah loss. They're down 10 at the half.

2Pat is very good when he plays hard to get rebounds. His presence also helps Lin a lot in terms of passing the ball. He is still off sometimes in the defensive rebounds and he still needs to learn to set a firm screen though. Mchale likes his game and that means a lot. Mchale should teach him some of his own skills.

    Somewhat suspicious yes.
Everyone is being insulted to some extent, on both sides. And unrelated replies to people's comments.

Walked away from the computer for a bit.

But yes, GameScore emphasizes points and everything that leads to possessions and points. It also penalizes for mistakes like missed shots, TOs, PFs, etc. After all, it's the highest scoring team that wins.

Outside of the 8 TOs, Harden was crazy efficient tonight.

    James Harden, SG: 22.1
    Patrick Patterson, PF: 18.9
    Jeremy Lin, PG: 18.6

We're talking about a 3 point difference from Harden to Lin, it's not really significant. We haven't had many games where the team had 3 players in the high teens in GameScore for some time now.

Well, I watched every single Yao game. Just because I joined in 2012 doesn't mean I wasn't watching the Rockets. Remember the change of tone in Bill Walton's voice when yao was a rookie? He was like Yao was great, blah blah blah, then he changed his tone, talking mad smack. I think the studios was telling him to change his tune.

Seriously, not to nit pick or anything, but did you just become a Justin Bieber fan because of Patterson?

I can always count on Harden some how doing something terrible, even when he drops 30/8/4/2 on only 15 shots....

For what it is worth this was Lin's best game in awhile, really outplayed Gervis.
