I'm pissed off because of all the idiots who don't realize what they have. Everone keeps saying they hate Lin because of LOF's. I think that's bull****. I think they should own up as to why they really hate Lin. If you think my saying that Houston should be PROUD they have an International celebrity is "over the top" then I say you have a problem.

 

a few things happened today that were great

1. pnr defense - our bigs played aggressively, denied the pass to the roll man and the rest of the team rotated properly...a lot of lazy LOH's have been crucifying lin for the PnR but ever basketball player knows you defend the PnR as a team...just look at how vasquez played today vs the other games...the difference is we defended the PnR much better today

2. mchale benched bad harden - team played better and then good harden returned in the 3rd...mchale needs to do this more often...not bashing harden but he can get carried away sometimes...coaches need to pull him out when hes affecting the team negatively

3. ppat played like a man - can't really expect this to be a regular thing but one can hope...its funny cause the pelicans announcers obviously dont watch the rockets regularly...they were ALL over ppat's jock...if we get double-double pat consistently then we are a LOCK for the playoffs...my favorite play of the game was his block where he yelled "gimme dat!" asik cant protect the paint alone

still some bad things though

1. i dont like harden playing the point...its too predictable and when harden isnt getting the calls or his shots off...we are TERRIBLE...coaches need to trust lin more...the team usually plays fine when lins running the point

2. starters stayed in too long...no one played 40 minutes but still...shoulda yanked em sooner

overall good win though...lets get some steam heading into the all-star break

 

was lin allowed to create off the dribble or was he just running that play where he hands the ball of to harden or parsons over and over again? how many picks did the rox set for him?

 

Slow down, Sparky. I like Lin and his success because I am Taiwanese and enjoy underdog story. However, there will always be doubters and in all honesty, Lin has not played well enough to convince them that he is indeed worthy of the popularity (credit to NY media). If he cannot perform at a respectable level game after game, his story will be just that, a 5 minutes feel good story and people move onto the next hype.

 

Delphino slipped those 3's in nice. When he's on he's a killer. Nets played tonight so the floor should be level. 3 in a row would help my digestion from the last 2 weeks.

I do not hate Lin. I love him to succeed.I am just saying international celebrity != basketball star. Love Lin all you want. But try not to declare a war on LOH or LOF. It destroys the game thread. It's enough for this forum.

Dude you just aren't getting it. His story is about so much more than basketball and Houston has him on their team.

 

Rockets fans let's face it. This a young team. Up's and down's that's the way it is.

Most consistent Rocket ? Royce White of course. He never changes.

 

Man. That kind of steal is very hard. I think you need both a quick hand and a very strong arm!!!

 

Folks get it, but the world is made up of all kinds of people. Some people don't really care that much about Lin's fame and celebrity. You appreciate it, not everyone does and trying to extoll it from the rooftops won't change their minds.

Lin's character and demeanor speaks for itself. As his play will ultimately have to speak for itself.

Lin won you over. Give Lin time to win everyone else over.

He doesn't need you to do it for him.

You guys, I don't think this guy is actually a Lin fan.

 

Just trying to point out that Lin's fame and celebrity can also be Houston's. I think however it's too much for doubter's to accept and comprehend. I did have the courage though to point out the obvious.

 

Dude, I get it, he's awesome, love it. You're just exploding this a little much. I watched him in NY and it was an awesome story. I just think you're going way too top on this, and I am a well known "LOFer" around here. Loved Yao here. I wonder why he never got as much love as Lin here?
