I think your enthusiasm is great, and personally Lin's remarkable story inspires me to try harder in my life too.
But so saying, you need to be careful in this forum, and not talk only about Lin, or more importantly bash other Rocket players just to prop Lin up. Many folks are sensitive about that, and you might find yourself being insulted endlessly...unless of course, being insulted and put down turns you on or something.
    :p

Not impressed with Lin's offense today. Thats what he should look like on average. His defense was stellar.

NOLA commentator said " I don't see Lin as a steal guy" (something like that).

    I was like wtf?

cant feel too good about this game. i rather see us dominate when the 3s arent fallin, rather than shooting a high 3pt%. we all know its not sustainable so we really need a plan b and we need to turn over to plan b before plan a gets us too behind. that 4Q could have killed us if just a couple of their shot fell in...

Uh yah.... nice enthusiasm, but really, let's not get ahead of ourselves.

Lin has potential, how much nobody knows, but can we just let the kid Grow into his potential?

It doesn't do anyone including Lin a service to peg him as a potential top 5 PG. He's still got a lot of growing to do.

Yeah Vanity and King1 - what is wrong with you - and all haters and doubters. Don't you realize what you have on YOUR TEAM?? A celebrity they just made a movie about - an inspiration to millions - many who are not even basketball fans. You should be VERY PROUD he is on your team. It's great that James made the All Star team but this is even bigger. Don't be hating him it just makes Houston look small and racist. I don't think it's a racist thing but people may take it that way. Please wake up and embrace his celebrity not hate it!!

2Pat is fighting for the offensive rebound very hard this game. He is also shooting his 2point jumper well today. Parsons is running hard and getting fast break points

Lin at least made two very risky and hard to get passes. I think he still needs to develop his passing skills especially when he wants to pass from the Elblow. Lin still gets trapped sometime in the paint when he stops his dribble. There is a lack of coordinated off-ball moving and Lin himself also needs to try not to stop the dribble or develop a jumper.

Harden is shooting efficiently but his lay-up still suffers a little bit. The offense stops and resets when the ball gets into Harden's hand (very different from what happends when it gets into the hands of Parsons or Douglas.) Sometimes he lost his opportunity to drive because he waits for the defense to regroup. Sometimes Harden is still forcing his lay-up into a 3 man wall after the defense regroups. I know I am asking for a lot, but Harden could definitely play better than Kobe / Melo given his rare skill to drive to the basket by not resetting the offensive flows.

Wasn't able to watch the game due to internet connection issues. Did McHale allow Lin more chances to facilitate and be the point guard of this team in this game?

Personally I don't care what Lin's personal numbers look like. As the PG he shouldn't care either.

His role is to help the team win. And if that means distributing the ball or acting as a decoy on some plays to create openings for his team mates to score, that's good for everyone.

Now, if the team is hard pressed to win a game, I hope that some nights he'll step up and put up a great stat line to get us over the hump. However, I think he played very smart basketball tonight. He found his open men, he took some shots and got some points, and he had a good impact on the defensive end.

Stopping the opponent from scoring 2 points is just as good as scoring 2 points. It all adds up to a win.

Forget I said top 5 - that may very well not happen. Certainly if McHale has his way it won't. The far bigger point is that Houston should be VERY PROUD they have JLin on their team - He IS an INTERNATIONAL CELEBRITY no matter how certain people hate it. To keep hating on him makes Houston look SMALL and RACIST.
