Agreed. I thought the trailer looked great and the fact that it was set over a Dylan tune made it even better. Had that O Brother haze to it. It's the Coen's for chrissakes.
I will watch because it's the Coen brothers. At work I can't see the trailer, but I don't need to. I hope it's good. The only Coen brothers movie, I absolutely did not like at all was Burn Before Reading.
wikipedia confirms this assertion, but it almost looks more like a Dylan film from the trailer, with a bunch of the country and travel scenes. van Ronk hardly left New York, right? Whatever. Don't understand the hate for the trailer. on page 1. Don't have to love it, of course, and it might look boring to somebody, fine, but ... Agree with others on the Coen trust. These aren't their greatest days, by any means, but they still make damn watchable and usually interesting films.
^^^ that. hate the "i'm misunderstood" shtick. couldn't help but to think of the "i'm gonna go listen to linkin park" meme. huh? i loved dredd
okay. I just saw the trailer from the first page. It made me more excited about seeing the movie, and I don't understand the hate for it at all. However, the fact that so many people hate the trailer also makes me believe that I'll like the movie even more.
Yeah, agree. It's like they think this is set in 2013, (Linkin Park, WTF? We're talking the roots of Dylan) when it's actually set in the 1950's. A very different time, and not just by the tax code!
Love the Cohen Bros. Looks good to me. Don't understand the hate. Fink, raising Arizona, Fargo, oh brother, and all the other great Cohen films get them my consideration. GI joe looks better? SMH
It screened for the media this morning and reviews are already trickling in. Consensus is real good to materpiece. It's being compared to O Brother "more Joycean than Homeric" though. John Goodman & Oscar Issac give award worthy performances. http://variety.com/2013/film/reviews/cannes-film-review-inside-llewyn-davis-1200482240/ http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movie/inside-llewyn-davis/review/524956
If they had just committed to the political allegories/references in writing the script and when they were asked in interviews; and taken out exactly two completely jarring jokes and plot points, they could have gotten Oscar noms. Hell of a cast.
Trailer didn't look that bad, not sure what the complaining is about That being said, I almost never enjoy Coen Brothers movies so I will probably pass on it
Literally no such things as hipsters, preppies, cougars, career girls or frat boys. Just terms made up to enforce constrictive behavioral, sociopolitical and economic roles on certain demographic groups. But you're the same cat who said a show set fifty years ago in a fictional company was called "navel gazing," so this commentary isn't surprising.
It won the Grand Prix (2nd place) at Cannes in May and there's a unreleased Bob Dylan song on the soundtrack. Trailer 3 <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/i-VG5IZGwT4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
