J5, Wu, grizzly bear, peppers, Aesop rock (not the fake rocky guy). Awesome lineup for the whole weekend
2 chainz is horrible. Is 2Pac going to show up this year lol? Disappointed they never did an actual tour with the Virtual Pac
Didn't know you guys come out here for this. Do you spend any extra time in the OC while your here? Would have been good to see you Harrisment.
Friday, is my day. My brit-pop loving head is going to explode. Blur and the Stone Roses (whom I never expected a reunion, much less a performance in the US) all they needed to add was an Oasis reunion (the one britpop band I have seen live) or Pulp to have my head actually explode. Is there any chance they are playing at the same time? I'm seriously considering going, but if they are playing at the same time that would be a disaster. I would have to see the Stone Roses, but couldn't leave my pregnant wife who LOVES Blur. BTW, everybody should listen to the first Stone Roses album, it really is one of the greatest albums of all time.
over 350 for a weekend pass? Lolz. Nah, I'm all right. Shows like these are for those who actually never go to shows around their town because either they live in a unfortunate location where it's not appealing to bands/artist to tour, or they simply aren't much into music. Coachella is a festival with lots of "fair-weather" fans just looking to get out of the house. There's plenty of local shows here in LA, so I'd rather just watch them solo like I have most of these acts that are playing.
Geez, I just realized that I have to buy a weekend pass, when Friday is the day I really want to go. That's BS. Then the hotels are expensive (150 a night for Comfort Inn, no thanks). Flights are cheap. I'm looking at 1500 for trip and concert. That's getting too rich for me. I'm sure it will be awesome but just too much.
Shh, they have tickets already... but aren't going, trying to convince them He and the Mrs. have been there five years in a row I think... I've been a few of them. They usually travel Thursday and Monday, not a whole lot of extra time there other than some time in Palm Springs.
Trust me, it is worth every penny. This will be my 3rd year, and as soon as you leave you start counting down the next day. It is a VERY unique concert experience in an absolutely stunning location. It is also run by a top-notch production company who spares no expense.
I'll take the ticket off his hands so as not to inflict any marital strife. (FYI, hate to admit I forgot you used to post here and that we've met. I've been a dick to you on here a few times lately and for that I apologize...not that not knowing someone makes it OK to be a dick, but you get my meaning).
We usually stay around Palm Springs and make the 25-30 minute drive to Indio. Of course hotel prices are going to be high in a small town where 75,000 people will be in one weekend. They tried single day passes in the past, and it was more hassle than it is worth.
I'm a dick, so I know that feels. It's also message board, so of course we're all assholes form time to time. ;-) I think he was being cute with the Phoenix bit. I saw Puscifer in Houston a few months back, an amazing experience. I shall do it again.
