Evans would be a great fit.. Then trade for josh smith/pau gasol/milsap or jefferson
    Lin/Beverly
    Harden/Evans
    Parsons
    Fill(one of the of above)
    Ask/Smith

I thought of this trade last night. It involves D. Howard to Houston. Some things have to fall in line for this to happen of course:

    1) Dwight doesn't see an doesn't see any short or mid term success in LA and doesn't want to waste his prime.( Kobe, Pau, and Nash will all be one year older next year and after they expire, you still have to build another contender which will take some time, even for LA)

    2) The trade deadline is after the All Star game, so that give James and co. a whole weekend to show him our vision for a future in Houston. If he bites and informs LA that he will not resign. (side note: Dwight did not buy a house in LA YET. Do the research!LOL) I propose this trade.

    3 way Trade:

    Hou out:
    ASIK
    Lin
    Patterson

    Hou in:
    Dwight Howard

    ATL out:
    Josh Smith

    ATL in:
    Asik
    Patterson
    E. Clark

    LA out:
    Dwight Howard
    E. Clark

    LA in:
    Josh Smith
    Lin

I think that would work very well for all parties involved. Will explain later. Gotta go to work:grin:

Offensively, certainly. Tyreke has become a pretty decent defender, though. He could really help Harden out on that side of the court with his size, quickness and rebounding. His midrange game and rim game in transition is pretty damn scary too. I'm not sure it would work, but I would love to see how they would play in the backcourt together.

Yes, Redick is a great outside shooter and for a outside shooting team he would be a great addition and they could still keep Lin in the process.

But with the Kings moving to Seattle where they have a huge Asian population, I bet the Rockets could work out a package to get Cousins.

Redick and Cousins with Harden = NICE...!!!!

True, but Redick is no scrub on defense either. Actually, either one would be a pretty solid fit, I'd just prefer Redick for the team we have now.

I think it would because Evans can legitimately play the 1, 2 and 3 position. And he's a better defender than Redick...

    As I was saying...
Atl gets a true center so they can move Horford to pf.
They add some depth with Patterson and Clark.

LA gets a young explosive pf to infuse some energy and defense
into an old team. He's also expiring. No long term contract. They
can move Pau to center where he'll be more effective for the remainder
of his contract. They get a young exciting pg to learn under Nash. Lin has a lot
of untapped potential and is familiar with D'atoni.

Hou gets Howard to pair with Harden. Enough said!

Redick is a horrible defender (xRAPM Def: -1.93) and Tyreke has no midrange game (10-15ft: 33% FG, 16-3pt: 27% FG).

As if it hasn't been stated time and time again...the Utah Jazz DO NOT NEED MORE BIG MEN.

And what do the Rockets do after Howard contract runs out and he signs somewhere else...???

The man has said several times that he did not want to play in Houston.

Wouldn't have to necessarily bring in Redick to be a starter. And his defense isn't great but it isn't Horrible.

And Evans had his best season playing the point guard position. Now he is at small forward (I believe) and could be the reason for his lower numbers.

While I don't think he's instantly into Houston now...his adamancy about not playing for the Rockets was when he was trying to get to Brooklyn, before Brooklyn maxed out Brook Lopez and the rest of their cap room, before The Beard got here, and before the Lakers turned to garbage.

Not saying he definitively changed his mind, but many factors have changed, and Houston is much more appealing now than it was over the summer. Ya never know...

I understand your point but still, why risk it...

Besides, why would D'Antoni want to have Asik when he runs a lot of pic&rolls and Asik can't catch...???

I would rather have DMC instead of Howard. And with the Kings going to Seattle, they would love to have Jeremy Lin...

Houston IN: Dwight Howard, Rip Hamilton

Lakers IN: Paul Millsap, Omer Asik, Chandler Parsons, Cole Aldrich, 1st Round Pick via Chicago(lottery protected).

Bulls IN: Puts them under the luxury tax. Sorta like the Cavaliers/Memphis trade. Giving up a draft pick for another team to taking on salary.

Jazz IN: Carlos Delfino, Patrick Patterson, Tony Douglas, (2) 2nd round picks via Houston.

The problem here is that you can't just lump together a bunch of small contracts and trade for single bigger one. You're forgetting roster size. The Lakers don't have any free spots to accept that gaggle of players if they're only shipping one person out. That means they'd have to cut all those guys (or an equal number of guys from their current team). That means they get negative value back in the trade if they have to cut all those guys and can only keep one.

Dwight trade ideas. Damn. It's deja vu.
Has LA given any indication that they might want to trade Dwight?
