In a couple of radio interviews now, Morey said suggested they're more likely to get their 2nd star through trade. He said stars don't usually change teams through free agency.

If you look at all the past big trades, you don't see stars getting moved for pure cap space. It's usually for another name, even if that other guy's done or expiring. I guess it's the PR side to sell tickets.

    Clutch,
So did Friedman invite you on his show just to be a sounding board for his thoughts and comments? :) Kidding ...on the level.

I completely agree that the Rockets are a victim of their own early success, and i am not calling for McHale's head. That said, it's hard to listen to apologists that you know are towing the organization's line because that's what they are paid to do. That's why i am, and will always be, a loyal clutchfans member.

For me, i'm not angry about the losing streak. And i don't care as much about our record either. For me, this season has always been about rebuilding and developing the young talent we have. Which is precisely what is so frustrating about the situation: while we are developing guys like Morris, Pat, and Parsons, we're not developing guys like D-Mo and Jones. It's hard to defend the fact that neither of those two have even sniffed real court time during this losing streak, and i wonder if the coaching staff is prepared to take a risk by letting them develop in game-action.

I continue to believe that Morris is somewhat playing out of position at the 4, and I don't see Pat being anything more than a solid reserve 4. Our franchise 4 might be on our bench or in the D-league, but there's no way to know because we're not giving them a chance to play. And if we are not playing them in a rebuilding year, we are not using our present situation to our advantage.

YDS ... Why is it that you only care about the demise of people? Machado wasn't good, but you posted Machado's cut like it was the greatest day in your Rocket history.

And now you want a guy trying to do an unenviable job (a hot chick job, only perks are free games, probably good pay and exposure) and doing his best to be sacked? And want Clutch to do this via a RocketCast?

Is there nothing better in your life? And it is sad that people laugh in agreement to this.

Great job, Clutch, and I can see that there's another beard to be feared around here! And agree with your comment that Jason Friedman has taken Rockets.com to another level. I've said before that he's the best thing that's happened to that site since it's inception, but he's a better writer than he is an interviewer. You guys were about a half hour into that thing before you got a significant chance to give your take on some topics, but hopefully you'll be on more of these, maybe with Bima and Craig Akerman, as well. That would be fun to see.

    Nothing but net, Clutch!

THANKS to Clutch and Jason. It's helpful to listen to the balanced dialogue (without histrionics). Great show.

Jason's said that he wants to have me on a Rocketscast at some point around/after the trade deadline to break down salary cap stuff. Not sure if Clutch will be on, too, but it should be fun.

Overall I liked the show with nice points from both sides of the fence.

One thing I disagree with though is the idea that Harden and Lin are essentially the same player. I think that's a gross oversimplification. Yes they both use the PnR to be effective but Harden is much more of a slasher where as Lin is more of a facilitator coming off the pick. Also Harden is more effective in the ISO where as Lin is not. However Lin is better at creating ball movement.
