With the Bucks possibly losing Jennings this off-season, maybe they'd be open to moving him, instead of losing him for nothing. With that said....

    Rockets & Bucks trade proposal

Rockets receive: Brandon Jennings, Ekpe Udoh and Mike Dunleavy

Bucks receive: Jeremy Lin, Patrick Patterson and Marcus Morris

Jennings is horrid, worst shot selection in the NBA.

This trade is good. Foye will open up the floor much better than Lin, and if it doesn't work, it's only for this year. Raja Bell can give Harden some rest, too. Another one would be trading for Calderon's expiring. Someone suggested Jennings + pieces work also. Brooks (Kings) and Collison (Mavs) are alternatives but they are less desirable.

The problem is do those team wants to commit 8 mil per for another 2 years for Lin, plus paying him 15 mil out of their pocket for that third year while only 8.3mil of it count against the cap. Might need to package a future second rounder in those trade.

Lin won't go to the kings, as long as Evens is on that roster.

FYI: Foye plays SG who shares minutes with Hayward.

Are you saying Lin doesn't want to be in Sacramento or he doesn't fit with Tyreke Evans? If it's the former, it's not Lin's choice whether or not he wants to be there. If you mean he's not a good fit with Evans, the Kings (Sonic) might not bring him back next season. If the ownership see the $$$, they might just get him, even though there's a glutton of PGs/wanna-be PGs on the roster.

No just trying to right the wrong and not pay $16,000,000 over the next 2 years on someone that is not a "fit" (and NEVER will be). AND take a chance on Burks.

Patterson to Atlanta for a 1st. Atlanta desperately need a big coming of the bench. At the worst they can get rid of the Rockets pick obligation

Maybe I'm just down on Patterson but I think the pick has more value.

At the present time, the pick has greater value in my opinion too.

Hou and Chi trade to help Chi get under the luxury tax line.

    Hou-Ppat, Aldrich, TDouglas

    Chi-Gibson, Hamilton, Butler

Chi does it to save money. Aldrich and TD are expirings and Hou is taking back more money total. Chi won't give up that 1st round pick.

Hou does it to get Hamilton to give Harden a breather this year (and becomes $5 mil expiring contract next year). Taj is a great value at $2 mil and can play D and block shots (he's a backup PF until we sign a starter this summer). Butler is the secret prize. Can probably play SG or SF, shoots 48%, and can supposedly play D. Would need to improve his 3PT%. Could backup Harden and Parsons.

They would probably just amnesty Boozer to get under the luxury tax if it involves losing Gibson. I would just take a 1st round pick with Hamilton and call it a day

They're not going to trade Taj when they just extended him. And Taj will be making $7.5M next year, not $2M.

Also, the trade you propose does not bring them below the luxury tax line of $70.307 million for 2012-2013. Close is not good enough. Since the conditions for activating the repeater rate coming soon doesn't care if you're $1 or $20M over the line. Ideally, they want to be below the luxury tax at the end of this season, not just reduce it, in order to break the consecutive years precondition for activating the repeater rate. This season's expiring contracts would help with 2013-2014 season's tax conditions, but it won't help this season since they would still count on the books, and thus be one of the potential consecutive years used in activating the repeater rate.

If their target is to go below the tax in 2013-2014 instead of 2012-2013, then they don't need to make a trade deadline deal right now. They have the off-season and before next season's trade deadline to do that with a team under the cap. If they want to do it via expiring contracts at this season's deadline, then they don't need the Rockets or a team under the cap, just any team with expiring contracts.

The only reason they would need the Rockets or a team with cap space is if they want to get under the Luxury tax by this season's end. That means they want Houston to take back enough salary to bring them under the luxury tax threshold. Expiring contracts are just a bonus (helps for 2013-2014), but don't help them get under the luxury tax for 2012-2013 since they still count on the books for this year. Houston is going to have to take back more net salary. The trade you proposed is off by a bit when you tally up the numbers and falls short, they would still be over the luxury tax.

They're about $4M and change over the tax line. Hamilton's $5M contract being moved and not taking any salary back would bring them under. But not if they take back all that salary with Ppat, Aldrich, Douglas, since the difference between that combined salary and the outgoing for Hamilton, Taj, and Butler means they still stay above the luxury tax threshold. No good for them.

The expiring nature of Aldrich and Douglas helps them in 2013-2014, but doesn't help them stay out of the luxury tax with their 2012-2013 numbers. And even $1 over the luxury tax is enough to count as a potential consecutive luxury tax year to activate the eventual much higher repeater rate. If they're giving up value or assets to shed salary, they'll want the full measure, all the way under the luxury tax, not being above it with the expiring salaries.

Patrick Patterson to the Sacramento Kings to babysit Demarcus Cousins.

Newly matured, newly efficient Tyreke Evans to the Houston Rockets.

Tyreke Evans and James Harden wreck the NBA for years to come...

I thought I was the only person on the plant who would like to see Tyreke Evans on this team. I brought it up a few weeks back on this board and people wanted to run me up out of here...lol...

May not cost the Rockets much to trade for him and they may not would have to give him a max contract to keep him.

I think J.J. Redick would be a good option as well...

Give me JJ Redick over Tyreke Evans 1000 times out of 1000 for this team.

Harden + Redick is a much better fit than Harden + Tyreke.
