When Patterson starts playin like man Harden will pass him the ball more but he keeps throwin up them punk layups he aint gettin nothin lol that should go for the rest of the team ..lol
exactly, that's like saying unless you were president you cant criticize Bush. Patterson doesnt have to be a great player. It's clear on Kentucky, even if you have stars you share it. Just like how Anthony Davis took like the 5th more # of shots, and MKG was #4 in shot attempts. Patt patt played with stars in college and never seen them hold onto it like this.
I don't like Patterson airing out in public. But him mentioning about the "system" drew my attention. Is there a system? Does Harden often ignore the system, if it exists? I remember Finch said that he believed in players freedom on offense. I don't know how much his view represents the current coaching staff. But if that is the philosophy, then maybe they are giving Harden the green light for his "freedom" in creating the offense. But if there IS some sort of system and game plan and Harden goes away from them, then Pat's complaint is valid. If you ignore the system, then your teammates can't know how to react and how to move. It's chemistry killer.
I understand what Patrick Patterson is talking about but he has a few problems also. I know the Rockets have to start setting screens, run better plays and cut back on the ISOs. But when the Rockets are down and things starts to get tougher, everyone tends to just stand there and watch Harden play 1 on 5. Patterson has been really awful lately. I understand that the Rockets should move the ball around and have some off the ball movement but seriously, the Rockets players like Asik, Morris and Patterson especially, have been pretty much useless even when wide open. Even if they set screens for Harden, its pointless because that would give defenders an opportunity to double Harden. The Harden & Asik pick and roll is just terrible. Basically, Harden gets a pick from Asik and he either have to score or pass it to the cutting Asik. To me, I don't see the point of that at all. That would give the defense an opportunity to just double Harden. When they do that, Harden would make a nice sharp bounce pass to Asik and that's a turnover. I've seen a few times where Asik just stop trying to catch the ball. He would just let the ball bounce right by him. Patterson on the other hand, is still camping at that corner 3 point spot. I think the opponents know that Patterson would either brick it or air ball it anyway so they can just packed the paint and prevent Harden and Lin to penetrate. When our offense become so unreliable, Harden basically have to go ISO because that is the best chance he probably has to score. Its so hard to run an offense when: A. Your PF is soft and just camps out at the 3 point line all night B. Your PG doesn't have a jump shot and relies on attacking the basket but easily gets cut off C. Your starting Center can't catch the most simplest passes.. That just pretty much sums it up. I know a lot will probably disagree with me but this is how our offense has been lately. I know many people here on ClutchFans would say the offense isn't the problem, the defense is. But when you think about it, the Rockets offense is basically their defense as well. When the Rockets are playing well on offense, their intensity picks up defensively. But when they are struggling offensively, their spirit on defense just goes out the window. This is a young team so its difficult for them to have a reliable defense. Having great defense takes discipline and experience. Plus having a good defensive minded coach helps a lot. The Rockets will continue to struggle a lot for the rest of the season. Other teams figured out how to stop the Rockets. All they have to do is continue to pressure Harden and swarm him every time he touches the ball. Other than Harden, no one else is really a threat. Delfino and Parsons can be a threat but they are inconsistent at times and they don't pack the offensive power by themselves. The rest of the crew has to pick it up and help out Harden. Either the PF start getting aggressive and take it to the basket strong and Lin finds a way to get himself going or the Rockets will be looking at lottery picks. Asik is not going to get any better but probably worst down the road. As his minutes keeps up, he doesn't have the stamina that will keep him going and his zero offense will haunt this team. He's a good rebounder and defender but his offense really hurt this team badly... I know Morey is saying he will stay put but hopefully he will find a few veterans that will help this team now because Harden isn't going to score 40 every night.
wow!!!!!!!!! I would tweet him but he blocked me last season when I was talking **** to him when we went on that losing streak to bounce out the playoff picture
Seriously dude, you should stop posting. Its not about Harden hero ball. Plus, Harden has to play hero ball in the first place because the Rockets are so far behind... If the other guys besides Harden that can actually do something positive offensively, the Rockets wouldn't fall behind and depend on Harden to will us back in the game. McHale had Harden playing deep in the 4th because he's our best player and with him on the court, the Rockets has the best chance in making a comeback or win. Ever notice whenever Harden is out? The Rockets struggle so much more without Harden in there. Its like they don't know what to do without Harden being in the court. Plus, Harden hero ball isn't making everyone else worse. They are already terrible in the first place. Its because everyone besides Harden is playing so badly right now that Harden basically has to go hero ball in order to win games. In the game against the Bobcats, the Rockets were down because no one could make a shot. So Harden basically has to put his head down, and drive hard to the basket and the Rockets won that game. The Rockets are not going to win many games if the rest of the team don't chip in and help out Harden at all. They just stand around and watch. If they would set some god damn screens for shooters and everyone is moving around, then maybe there would be some ball movement. But right now, everyone is just staring at Harden going ISO and the defense is just waiting to collapse on Harden. Patterson and Asik has been so useless offensively. Because of them, that gives Harden an extra defender on him. If Patterson would stop standing there air balling 15 footers and Asik can catch the damn ball, maybe things would be a little better. But Harden hero ball is definitely not the problem. Harden is struggling right now and to blame all this mess on him is just stupid. Harden can't will the Rockets to victory every night against NBA teams. I said this before already. All the stars in the NBA has help. Durant has Westbrook, Lebron has Wade and Bosh, CP3 has Griffin and a deep team, Kobe has Dwight and Nash, Rondo has Pierce and KG, Melo has a good deep team of veterans... Who do Harden have to give him some help? Lin? Asik? Patterson? Maybe that's another reason why Harden has to go hero ball because he doesn't have anyone else who can help.
Its always Harden that needs to adjust right? The Rockets are playing terrible and Harden is struggling himself also but the team needs to do something also. Harden does play defense but he's not the lock down defender like some of the 1st team all defensive team. Harden is Harden and his role is a playmaker and a scorer. In OKC, Harden never really played locked down Defense. He plays decent defense... But stop blaming all the Rockets struggles on Harden's defense. The Rockets have been terrible lately because of the whole team. The Rockets have been bad but Harden is definitely not the worst. But this is the last post I will reply to you because most of your post is pretty dumb, illogical and ignorant. I just think you don't like Harden in general and have something against him so every time the Rockets are struggling, the first thing you do is blame Harden even though Harden did everything he can and the team just sucks big time. There's no point in trying to reason with you because some people, you can't really reason with.
Sorry, PPat, you're on your way out of this team. Harden takes the game into his hands mostly in the 4th. What're y'all doing in the 1st to 3rd quarters? You shouldn't be the one to speak because you're not making an impact on our game.
as the third year player, ppat has the right to speak out. Even though he doesn't play well, he points out the problem right. Coach need to fix this hero ball problem
Parsons is streaky and inconsistent because he's still only a 2nd year player and the Rockets are depending on him too much offensively. Because the Rockets don't really have any threats outside of Harden, the Rockets then turn to Parsons and asking him to do much more. Right now, Parsons isn't the problem. He's a great fit on a great team where he's a role player that does the dirty work like Battier. But this Rockets team needs a PF, a Center that can catch a pass and finish. I don't even know how many times Asik just let the pass roll by him. Harden would make a sharp nice pass to Asik where if he would catch it, it would easily be a dunk. But so many times he just can't catch it. It really angers me because this is the NBA, you can't make soft passes in the NBA at all. But with Asik, any pass that isn't soft or dead on to his chest, he won't catch it. I know a lot of times where Lin would penetrate, draw defenders and make a nice no look pass to Asik but he still can't catch it. It feels like he's not paying attention to the ball or he just have really clumsy hands. I know our PFs has to go. Big TIME. I also love Asik defensive rebounding and good solid defense but at the end, he's just not good enough to be a starter on an elite team. His offense is just a liability. He can play a similar role like Perkins but OKC has plenty of scorers but the Rockets only have one.
per game stats minutes per game are a bit more then last year 23.3/25.4 2012 OREB 1.8 DREB 2.7 2012 OREB 1.5 DREB 3.1 so only slightly down... so I guess all these people wanting him to rebound more have to realize that he is rebounding about the same as last year but has added some 3pt shots to his game (2.2 per game average). so he either takes the time to get to the 3 pt line and try those shots ( probably as he asked to do) or stays in paint and rebounds
Those plays when people are just standing around? Those are called isolation plays. You'll see Harden initiate them. SMH get a clue.
Ppat needs to have several of these _/, _/, _/, _/. There is some truth to what he is saying but Ppat sucks, he doesn't rebound or box out and doesn't contribute much consistently. He needs to first look in the mirror. Harden forces it a lot mainly because he doesn't have much talent around him. Harden has basically went from playing with two superstars to playing with a bunch of D-leaguers. There needs to be a shake up of some kind on this team and soon.
