I've seen a couple of old interviews with him but, I don't know why, but he eerily reminded me of TMac in this interview. The way he talked, his mannerisms, the slightly droopy eyes. It was uncanny. Outside of that, can't comment much about it. It's still all words at this point.
How come such a well-spoken and seemingly intelligent person behaved so dumb by going to twitter and ranting there and refusing to do what's best for him? Either he is playing with Morey or he is just really crazy. He is not a Rocket in my book, not yet.
He is such a great interviewer. Getting out on TV; trying to repair the image of himself he created with his twitter rants. Spreading his own propaganda. Trying to get us to obey. He totally side stepped details. They asked him and he went with the travel comment and they never brought him back to the basic question of what do the Rockets have to do to get him to do his job. His OCD might require he control the situation by having Is and Ts dotted, but he is leaving so much unsaid. And for a guy who does a great job with providing follow up details, it smells funny. He is a smart guy and is leveraging the opportunity to paint the picture, which is easy to do since the Rockets are silent and trying to support him.
Batman Jones articulately addressed this. This is just what mental health issues look like. We will never understand the disconnect. For all the potential he has, I want to see him succeed. I like underdog stories. But I don't know if a team can every really depend on him unless he gets healthier and not just maintain the status quo.

he's set for life. its up to him whether or not he wants to hoop now. sounds like he does and hes headed in the right direction
Exactly. Michael Jordan sounds (and manages basketball teams) like an uneducated bumpkin. He was a great athelete. Daryl Morey is well spoken and a good GM. He is a fat nerd. Coincidence? I think not.
I just watched the real sports with Gumble interview on HBO. The Rockets have to be careful though they're probably screwed. The way this guy talks about the ADA in his interview is leading me to believe that he will file a suit against the rockets for discrimination. The suit won't just be a regular employment practices claim & it goes away for X sum of money, he likely would cite what his earnings potential would be for somebody at his talent leve, draft spot, endorsements ect [as in a 12 to 15 yr career] citing the Rockets 'damaged his reputation', 'kept him sidelined' ect In listening to him, I think he's trying to rewrite the ADA laws related to mental illness more than get on the basketball court. This may be about mental illness or it could be about never working again. Here's an excerpt: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/aT1iJn8Zdv8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> I don't think Morey's gamble pays off & could really cost the Rockets big time.
