I'm starting to hate watching this team play. The turnovers are just getting ridiculous McHale or the whole coaching staff really needs to address this.....meaning screw the plays our priority for this game is not to turn ball over. I cringe or do a facepalm everytime Harden tries to do a bounce pass against 3 defenders Anyways which is worst to watch???
The effort and energy makes it unbearable to watch. It looks like most of the players are just going through the motions.
Early on, even when the Rockets were losing, they were fun to watch. But watching them this past month has become unbearable. They aren't playing their own style. They've stopped running. They've stopped really moving the ball around. They've continued making those stupid passes that they've been trying since the start of the season which end up as turnovers, but they're no longer doing other things to make up for it. I suppose this was about the same number of games we played before going through our losing streak last season (what with the shortened season and all). So I'm guessing fatigue has a lot to do with it. This off-season has got to be about building endurance and shooting. I think we'll see a slight uptick in our pacing (and winning) after the All-star break, but it'll break down again shortly after that, and we won't pick it up again until the start of next season. The good news is that this team was never meant to make the playoffs. Heck, most of us didn't think they'd win 30 games. So I can't get too down on them, no matter how they played early on.
The Rockets have had high turnovers since day 1. But it's gotten to a point where they are turning it over so much that they can't come back from it. Yesterday in the 2nd quarter, the Rockets figured out how to cut down on the turnovers and we all saw the outcome from that. We ran the ball, and outscored them. The turnover situation needs to be addressed because it completely kills our momentum every game, and it puts us in a hole that we can't seem to come back from.
I think the difficulties we are having now are expected, with the wear of a season on a moderate shooting team that relies on running and transition baskets to win. The schedule has been somewhat grueling, and I expect they will look better with more rest. They have 6 back to backs in January, and will only have 3 next month, plus the All Star break coming up. I would look for things to improve in February. Having said that, it's also a young team, and they are going to have growing pains as well. People get too up when they're playing well and too down when they aren't. The real identity of the team is somewhere in between. What were you expecting?
I understand that there will be growing pains but a "bunch" of their turnovers a very correctable. * Harden can't pass the ball when there's 3 guys on him....he needs to make that pass before the defense is actually on him. * I know we want to run but Asik needs to stop making an outlet pass when he's falling or off balance.
its this stupid gimmicky offense and iso hero ball that is unbearable to watch. everything is a pick and roll at the 3pt line or watch harden go 1 on 5 while wide open perimeter players wait to get the ball.
So do you think the coaching staff is not preaching to them about turning the ball over? They can clearly see where all these TOs are getting them. This is all on the players to correct, not the coaches.
