A british tabloid is not going to break any stories about these Star Wars movies. Remember, a British tabloid claimed that Johnny Depp would play the Riddler in the 3rd Batman movie. They're full of crap, take that Vader rumor with a giant boulder sized grain of salt.

If Vader is really gonna be in these films, then they will be laughable.

I never said they were chosen. Just said they said no (when asked if they would do it by media).

For the love of all that is with the Force, do not bring back Hayden Christensen in any form. That guy almost single-handedly ruined episodes 2 and 3.

Yeah, 90% of this speculation is nonsense.

Matthew Vaughn, Stephen Spielberg and Quentin Tarantino were all asked by some media reporter if they'd be interested. No one with a brain can really think that a studio interested in making a Star Wars movie would ask Quentin Tarantino to direct it. Seriously?

Of the three, only Stephen Spielberg is realistic due to his relationship with his buddy George Lucas, who remains a creative consultant with the company after this deal. However, he's already apparently cited exactly that relationship as why he wouldn't do it. It's his friend's franchise, and he doesn't wanna touch it. One of the reasons Lucas made this deal was to turn the franchise over to younger up and coming writers and directors who were big fans of Star Wars. He said it from his own lips during the press for the sale. Arndt is a great choice for the project. As someone else posted in an article, he's an extreme Star Wars fan and has done lectures on Star Wars in relation to storytelling for awhile. Those of you who think the above directors have "turned down" the movie because the Ardnt screenplay is bad, punch yourself in the face repeatedly. First of all, the screenplay isn't done. When it's done, they'll give it to a choice group of directors who may be interested and who they may be interested in. Secondly, one of them will not be nor would ever be Quentin F'N Tarantino. Jesus.

And the British tabloids reporting they're ressurecting Darth Vader.

Right, because the first thing you do when you're making a new Star Wars film is tell a British tabloid crucial plot points.

Sometimes I wonder if some of you will eventually just drop dead because you forgot to breathe.

Zack Snyder To Helm "Star Wars" Film

    By Garth Franklin

    Monday January 14th 2013 01:08PM

Zack Snyder To Helm "Star Wars" Film "Man of Steel" and "300" director Zack Snyder may have already ruled himself out of the running for the upcoming "Star Wars: Episode VII" at Disney Pictures, but that doesn't mean he won't be a part of the SW universe.

Vulture reports that Snyder is developing a presently untitled "Star Wars" project for Lucasfilm that is set within the series’ galaxy, though parallel to the next trilogy.

In fact, the story is said to be loosely based on Akira Kurosawa’s 1954 classic "Seven Samurai." Gone are the ronin, instead there's a band of Jedi knights who will no doubt protect some colonists from a group of bandits.

It’s presently unknown how it will fit within the Star Wars chronology, though the likelihood is it will be set sometime post–"Return of the Jedi".

In terms of actual production, he wouldn't begin shooting until after Disney starts production on "Star Wars: Episode VII" which is aiming to be in cinemas by 2015.

I always thought it would be cool to do a series of "shorts" either live action or animated that were set in the Star Wars Universe. Each would be done by a completely different Director and they would be given full control over what they produced. Sort of like what they did with the Matrix series and the animated shorts that were done for that universe.

Never was a Star Wars fan or care about the Star Wars universe. I think it's because of the terrible decision by Lucas with his monsters/aliens design that cheapen the universe to me. Never really care for it. Best thing they should do is start over and create a new Star Wars universe.

Ugh No? As much as I love Drew Struzan and his 80s stuff. But they need something new. His stuff are too 80ish. He's like a Boris Vallejo that only have one style.

J.J. Abrams Will Direct Star Wars

One of the most high-profile and desirable directing gigs in the business may have been assigned. J.J. Abrams, the mastermind behind the current Star Trek revival, is reportedly set to direct a new episode of Star Wars, now in development at Disney.

The news comes from The Wrap, where they're citing "an individual with knowledge of the production" and offer no further details. Deadline has chimed in with their own vague source, claiming "it's a done deal with J.J." And The Hollywood Reporter's Borys Kit has made it three, tweeting that his sources have confirmed the news as well, although "negotiations quite down the road," which will make it quite a while before the news is suer-duper official.

Abrams had been on the short list for a lot of fans, including our own Sean O'Connell's, and Abrams himself admitted not long ago that he had conversations with Lucasfilm about the project and "I declined any involvement early on." So either he was lying back then, or he's been convinced to take another look. With negotiations still to come, is it possible he was holding out back then for an even better deal than the one he's got now?

We'll bring you updates as we get them, but meanwhile let us know what you think of this potential Abrams-handled Star Wars future.

We'll see if this one hold any water as the Snyder one looks like it was bunk...

    HOLY F*** HOLY F*** HOLY F***

Episode 7 officially has hope. Abrams has a monopoly on the Sci-Fi genre. Perfect choice for the movie.

Trekies are probably on edge right now though. From Star Trek to Star Wars....blasphemous.
