    THIS!

Log-jam at the 4 prevents DMo playing time. But I'm sure we can play him 5 mins a game, especially if it means taking minutes away from PPatt/Morris.

He doesn't deserve to be treated like a rookie; but it's understandable given the circumstances. But that just makes it more urgent that either PPatt or Morris or preferably both get shipped out.

This. And D-Mo was actually playing in Euroleague while Beverley was playing in Euro cup. And what the rockets are doing is becoming a national joke in Lithuania every thread is dissing the decisions of Rockets.

Did any of you knew that before the season Barca was interested in paying Asecco to keep him in Europe with a 2 years remaining contract he had left. He would had a chance by now to actually play at hight level and be Euroleague champion.

Did you knew that the guy skipped National team previous summer just that he could get ready for a season as a Rocket?

D.Morey deserves a middle finger in his face to say the least, with such excuses :''Uh oh, we signed G.Smith''

People do not read, title should actually say:

Donatas Motiejūnas: "I want D-League, rather than sit on the bench"

Donatas actually felt like he benefits from playing in the D-league and the Rockets will probably oblidge him since they aren't playing him anyway. I actually would like to see him get PT on the Rockets, but I'm sure he will soon.

I believe the Rockets are really high on D-Mo, probably highest of all the rookies. But this article is not really about D-Mo wanting PT with the Rockets, but him wanting to stay active.

I admire D-Mo's work ethic and humility. I'm pretty sure he is the first player to ever request to be demoted to the D-League

I agree that people have a hard time reading.

Donatas is a fiery competitor who loves the game of basketball. He wants nothing more than to play basketball. If that means playing in the d-league while he earns playing time in the NBA then so be it.

You gotta love this guy. He is seriously committed to his craft.

I would say Motiejunas already has some of the best post moves in the NBA (Scola might have the best) but his problem is that he is out of position a lot. Not to mention he needs a good amount more sand in his pants.

Other than that, D-Mo needs to focus on defense and rebounding, particularly placement/boxing out and he will see the court at some point.

I do think the coaching staff is just waiting it out a little bit. We have a lot of pf's on this team. That being said though, I do think Motiejunas is in the Rockets plans for the future. Let's see what happens.

He needed to do it like Sergio Llull did, but probably Karnišovas assured him that he will get playing time...
Wanted to debut in the NBA at the same time with his buddy Valančiūnas :)

Skipping Olympics to play in SL was so dumb by him too. If he scored 30 on USA or just played well in general against all teams he will not be in this situation he is right now. But he had bad blood with our r****d NT coach... glad he's gone now...

I like his competitive nature, but this makes me nervous. Scola and Landry never complained about their limited roles for their first half seasons and Scola had a much longer list of accomplishments. What good can come from involving your agent in an issue about playing time? This is Marcus Morris-esque.

Our PF positions are so garbage, I'm surprised they don't even taking a look at him.

I'm not really sure why he's complaining. Very few to No overseas players play well in their 1st few years. I'm glad he wants to play but the guys in front of him have been here longer and went through what he's currently going through. Jeremy Lamb was drafted at 12 and he's in the D league. We're trying to make the playoffs so the coach is going to play who he's comfortable with and the guys he knows. Beverly blew the coaches away in practice which is why he's playing. Jones is struggling with having to know and run multiple offensive sets, he gets stuck after plan A doesn't work. D Mo needs to shut up and do what he's told and his time will come. Oh yea, his defene is terrible against 4s, by terrible I mean worse than Patterson and Morris.

    Dude take a chill-pill!!!

So let me make it right for you, THIS IS NOT A CHAMPIONSHIP QUALITY TEAM!

    (1) D-Nuts is not your typical rookie he's played pro-basketball in Italy,Lithuania
and Poland which I know is not the NBA but non the less is pro-ball. So I think
they have a better gauge of where he's at vs a player comming out of college.

    (2) I think (but not sure) that they are trying to showcase PPat/Morris
because they would rather trade them vs. D-Nuts.

    (3) I've got no clue what your taking about when you say stealing a player
thats under contract? Where did you find that in my comment?

    (4) I don't know if Morey is purposely letting us lose games...I don't know
a lot of things but if that's bothering you maybe you should talk to him
directly....he has a Twitter account you know!

    (5) Which superstar are you referring to? Harden he's under contract for a
long time. Or is it that key player to go along side Harden? I think having
that first superstar goes a long way in recruiting quality players.

"Regardless let the Fine Tuning begin !!!"

There is a plethora of PF's on our roster. I think before the trade deadline we should try to make a move and package one of the PF's we have in it. D-Mo is a great player and has a great upside, but since he isn't playing, I feel he is definitely right in asking to be moved to the DL

For folks obsessing on a potential trade demand: Motie has no hand. He's locked on a multi-year rookie contract with multiple team options and restricted free agency at the end. Among rookies, only budding franchise players have any leverage at all. A trade demand would only make Morey giggle. He's impatient to contribute, great; if he gets too frustrated, it doesn't matter. Some day, he'll get a chance to play, and he (and the Motie fanboys) just has to wait for it.

Scola got solid minutes from the moment he arrived here.

I think by D-Nuts, you mean D-Mo. And i don't trust anything from the Rockets FO about player developement because they are terrible at player developmenet. Also how much worse will Morris/PPat play before they are given actual NBA games. Thats how you determine how good a player is- by actually playing them in real games against real nba competition.

They should be trying to win, not showcase players for trade. If that was the case, OKC and Miami would have Lebron and KG on the bench so other teams will not show any trade interest in them. Plus PPat/Morris are lowering their trade values with their play not increasing it.

I got the part about stealing players when you suggested we r putting D-Mo on the bench so other teams will not see how good he is and instead and will be interested in our current pf rotation.

Im not his boss, i could care less what goes on Morey's head. His public moves are good enough indication.

Remember what Morey always says after he drafts someone?

"We don't really expect them to make a contribution this year." Morey says that every year. I think Morey likes to bring players into the rotation after a lot of practice and D-League experience. However, we have seen McHale play rookies in their first year, Parsons and Beverley. So, I think McHale will play a rookie when he thinks they are ready.

Look, anyone that wants to see D-Mo or TJones play, just watch the D-League games. I've been watching all the Vipers games and you really get to see what's good and bad about these players. The D-League is great in my opinion, and I think playing in the D-League games are incredibly helpful to the development of rookie players. I'd like to see both D-Mo and TJones playing for the Vipers right now. I think both players still have a lot to learn, and I think they can learn it in the D-League faster than sitting on the bench for the Rockets, or getting limited minutes for the Rockets. In the mean time, we can try to build trade value in Morris and Patterson. This team isn't going anywhere this season, no need to rush anyone into the lineup.

That all sounds good until you factor in the fact that by all accounts he has been great in practice and dominate in the D-League while the players in the rotation above him have been mostly awful. His attitude has been great as well so whats the issue with giving him a chance?

    - He's not strong enough to hold his position for rebounds? PPat and Mook have been completely ineffective at rebounding so what's the difference?

DMo dominated the 4th quarter last night on both ends of the floor. When the game was 92 to 95 the Vipers started giving the ball to DMo almost every possession and he took over offensively. On the defensive side he was rebounding and blocking shots.
