Seeing the Lakers lose puts me to ease a little bit about our loss.

I think he was referring to the fact that according to D'antoni and Howard, the Lakers have a new season starting every few games now.

    haha, got it.

they had the winless preseason, the cup of coffee with Mike Brown, the real training camp & preseason under the new coach, the real season starting according to Mike D, the gutcheck moment, the real season according to Howard, and now according to everyone, they have hit rock bottom.

that's like 6 or 7 seasons right there!

these Lakers are a gutless, spineless, bunch. no heart whatsoever.

As much as it's going to make the franchise look like complete buffoons, they have to let D'Antoni go. That'll be two coaches that couldn't make the dream pairing of Gasol and Howard work, but they need someone who takes a minimalist approach to offense.....not this gimmicky trash that D'Antoni is trying to institute. Who cares if Steve Nash gets relegated to being a "normal" PG....guess what? He's really good at that, and he will find a way to make plays. Get the ball into the post, let Howard go to work, and let Pau clean up whatever is left.

I totally forgot about that! I went to their first preseason game when they went up against GSW. And look at them both now. GSW are doing great while the Lakers aren't doing so great.

I guess the Kobe/Jordan comparisons can stop now? Jordan would drag this bunch of losers to the Finals.

Dwight Howard on his worst day is 10 times better then Luc Longley/Bill Wennington.

It shouldn't have taken this article to erase any doubt D'Antoni is far and away the #1 reason for the Lakers failures. By announcing Pau was coming off the bench, he basically put up a giant sign saying "I am unfit to coach this team". Those of you still pinning everything on Kobe or Pau just can't see reality. The only key player on the Lakers roster not at odds with D'Antoni is Nash. Neither Kobe, nor Dwight nor Pau can stand the guy. That should tell you something.

Regarding Nash, he is tremendously overrated at this point in his career. Whatever he gives them on offense is more than negated by not being able to guard or impede opposing PGs on the other end. We've seen it all season but when I saw how Hinrich crossed him over and lit up the Lakers, the case is closed. Hinrich is a sorry offensive player.

Lakers needs to run a traditional offense that feeds the post and let's Kobe dominate the perimeter. They need a PG that can defend, doesn't need the ball in his hands and hit 3s. This is not a good fit for Nash.

I expect Jim Buss to accept that he made a huge mistake. He will fire D'Antoni after the season. It will be interesting from there. SVG would be a good choice for that team if the bridges weren't burnt so badly.

    Jim Buss made a mistake?

Wait.... wasn't everyone pegging the Lakers as the #1 team in the West even with Mike Brown at the helm?

This entire season is a freaking LOLoftheYEAR award all by itself

And Pippen is 10 times better than Metta World Artest? Not sure what you're trying to say there.

(obviously jordan is a lot better than Kobe at helping his team win.)

Jim Buss has made a lot of mistakes. Firing the old guard, hiring Mike Brown, hiring D'Antoni

Trading Pau will be the next one

And anyone who knows basketball could've told you the Lakers were doomed the minute they announced they were gonna run the Princeton

They need to bring back the triangle

Dwight posting up in the paint - check
Pau posting up or hitting midranges on the weakside post - check
Kobe pull up in the paint - check
Nash running pick and roll off the ball reversal - check
Enough energy to get back on D - check

Kobe's a bit ticked off and like the posts previously said made a (bad?) reference to Rudy T :

First off the Lakers got toasted with Phil still coaching. The team was already on a downfall....but they were blaming Pay the whole time. Mike Brown wasn't going to instantly make them look good again and neither was Dantoni.

They never even ran the Princeton honestly, and brown never got a real chance. Regardless it still didn't stop almost everybody including these analyst from saying they'd be a top seed. Nobody except my man DaCzar who does the NBA 2k videos said he didn't think it would work, but nobody predicted a complete collapse.

Nash's defense didn't just start getting bad, Kobe didnt just start sucking on defense, arrest didn't get get slow in November, pay was wussing out when Phil was still here...eventually just admit that this team isn't good and the personality mixes are even worse.

Autocorrect? Pay and Arrest are definitely two of the Lakers' best players
